The Husqvarna 356BT low noise technology is a revolutionary new concept for blowers. Noise dampening material within the housing and an innovative exhaust tube reduce the decibel rating on the 356BT to an amazing 64 dB(A). Top class blowing performance is provided by the E-TECH® II engine which facilitates better power and lower emissions. The Husqvarna 356BT is equipped with a tube-mounted throttle control.

This is my first Husqvarna purchase. I chose model 356BT largely because of its low noise technology. This seemed important since the motor is so close to the user's ears. I have not been disappointed. The unit seems to be well built, starts with just a couple of pulls, rides comfortably on my back and moves a lot of air. I have not yet had the opportunity to try "raking leaves" with it, but it does a great job cleaning up after mowing and trimming.I was a little surprised to see in the owners manual a recommendation to take the unit to a shop to have the carburetor readjusted with a tachometer after a few hours of breakin. I have not seen this requirement for any other brand of engine that I have purchased.

While this blower does make great power considering how quiet it is, I can say that it absolutely fails as a commercial unit. The motor mount/crank case assembly is a very poor design and is extremely prone to breaking. There are two pieces of metal that absorb a lot of vibrations and just are not up to the task. My motor mount broke in two places and the replacement assembly is $160-$180 and quite a bit of labor to install. I still like the way this blower performed but it seems Husqvarna screwed up when designing the motor mount/crank case assembly. I checked with my local repair shop and they said whenever a 356BT comes in for repairs the first thing the techs check/ask about is if the motor mount is cracked--they often are and with shop labor plus part cost it is financially stupid to repair. Cool idea for a blower but poor execution. I would still buy a Hsqvarna blower but not the 356BT.

Muffler hose problems
from Green Cove Springs
Really good blower, but I have had a continuing problem with the rubber hose that connects the muffler tubes. The original hose became brittle and began to crumble, causing a burn through of the back pack cover. Replacement now melt with one use.

Worst blower I have owned
I bought this blower a few years ago and have had multiple problems. I have had the mechanic, who is a Husqvarna distributor from whom I bought the machine, work on the blower multiple times. He kept cleaning the air filter and carb, and adjusting things but it never ran very well. It ran well for about 45 minutes then it would die out and not restart. We performed all the scheduled maintenance as directed in the manual. I added air filter oil on the air filter as directed, then the same mechanic told me it was my fault that the machine was running poorly because I damaged the carb with the air filter oil!! I then had to pay again to get the carb cleaned. I called Husqvarna and they would not help me with this matter. Got a new carb in it last week, but now it only runs for 20-minutes and then dies out and will not restart. I had to revert back to our handheld Echo blower that runs all day long. I have had my Echo for 10 years and it's never seen a mechanic!
Merchant response: I apologize for the problems you are having with the blower. I do not understand how air filter oil can damage the carburetor unless there was a lot of air filter oil ingested into the carburetor. Cleaning modern carburetors rarely fixes the problem. The new generation carburetor have very small opening that simply will not clean very well. I would recommend replacing the carburetor and have the dealer check the fuel lines and filter. This should correct the problem you are having
I've had my leaf-blower for 2 years now and I can say it is very dependable and very well-made. You cannot ask for a more quiet blower, that's easy to use and isn't heavy or hard on your body to carry around. My neighbors love it too because I don't make so much noise in the neighborhood. It's the best blower I've ever had. And its the kind that all the professional yard upkeep crews use too, I've notice, so it must be good!!!

It is good value
This leaf blower has a air speed of 1809 mph which does a great job on wet leafs
from Beverly Hills
The blower starts easy and does a great job. Just one or two pulls and it starts running.I purchased this product because I have a Husqvarna weed trimmer I purchased about five years ago and never had a problem with it. Still starts with only a few pulls and runs great.
356BT leaf moving mackine
Has serious leaf moving power. amd quiet enough I don't need earplugs(still wear them though) Used a friend's blower before buying this one and there was a noted difference in weight ,air volume, and noise. Totally satsified and would recommand to anyone.
Thar she blows!

Plenty Powerful - and Quiet for a Blower
from New Bern
This is an excellent product. It is powerful and for a blower, it is quiet, although earplugs or a sound-protecting headset would be wise. It is weak only in ergonomics. It needs a harness, so one can hook it around one's shoulders or neck, rather than holding it by hand. It does get heavy! With the extension tube on, one hand can grasp that for support, but the tube needs a handle or strap because it is hard to grasp the tube. I researched these blowers carefully. This is one is fine and I would buy it again.
