Why is my hedge trimmer smoking?

If smoke comes from your hedge trimmer while you are using it, there could be more than one reason for this issue depending on the colour of the smoke.

Blue smoke

• indicates that the wrong fuel has been used
• indicates that the engine is flooded

Black smoke

• indicates that the wrong fuel has been used

White smoke

• indicates that there is steam from condensed water being heated inside the engine
