How to use the drive on the wheels of your lawn mower

If you want to use the drive on the wheels on your lawn mower, there are different ways to utilise it depending on what kind of lawn mower you own:

Drive bail

Petrol-powered lawn mower:

  • Start the product
  • Pull the drive bail in the direction of the upper handle to start the drive.
  • Push the + and - buttons/dials to set the drive speed, if this applies to your model.
  • Release the drive bail to disengage the drive, for example when you go near an obstacle. Note that if you release the engine brake handle, the drive will automatically be released.
  • Before you pull the product backwards, disengage the drive and push the product forwards approximately 10 cm. This will release the lock on the wheels.

Battery-powered lawn mower:

Note that on battery-powered products, you can use the drive with or without the blade being engaged.

  • Start the product:
  1. Open the battery lid.
  2. Put a charged battery in the battery holder.
  3. Turn the safety key to 1.
  4. On some models, you will need to turn on the control panel.
  • Pull the drive bail in the direction of the upper handle to start the drive.
  • Push the + and - buttons/dials to set the drive speed, if this applies to your model.
  • Release the drive bail to disengage the drive, for example when you go near an obstacle. Note that if you release the motor brake handle, the drive will automatically be released.
  • Before you pull the product backwards, disengage the drive and push the product forwards approximately 10 cm.

Drive lever

Petrol-powered lawn mower:

  • Start the product.
  • Pull the drive lever in the direction of the handlebar to start the drive.
  • Push the + and - buttons/dials to set the drive speed, if this applies to your model.
  • Push the drive lever away from the handlebar to disengage the drive, for example when you are near an obstacle. Note that if you release the engine brake handle, the drive will automatically be released.
  • Before you pull the product backwards, push the drive lever away from the handlebar and push the product forwards approximately 10 cm to fully disengage the drive.

Battery-powered lawn mower:

Note that on battery-powered products, you can use the drive with or without the blade being engaged.

  • Start the product:
  1. Open the battery lid.
