How to clean your lawn mower

In order to keep your lawn mower clean and in good condition, make sure you clean it after every use.

Also check if your product is clean before you start using it.

Cleaning the inner surface of the cutting cover

Issues that may be caused by the inner surface of the cutting deck being dirty:

  • Poor cutting results
  • Higher energy consumption (fuel or battery)
  • Shorter battery runtime on battery-powered lawn mowers due to increased resistance

WARNING: To prevent accidental starts, remove the ignition cable from the spark plug.
CAUTION: For models with an electric start, remove the battery before you clean the product.

  1. Remove and empty the collector and the mulch plug if the lawn mower is equipped with them.
  2. If your lawn mower is equipped with a chute, make sure that the chute is clear of debris, dirt and grass.
  3. Empty the fuel tank.
  4. Put the product on its side with the spark plug and the air filter in the top position.
CAUTION: If the product is put with the air filter down, this can cause damage to the engine.
  5. Use a brush to remove leaves, grass and dirt.
  6. If needed, gently hose down the inner surface of the cutting cover with water. Do not use a high-pressure washer to clean the product.
CAUTION: Make sure that the product is dry before using it.

WARNING: To prevent accidental starts, turn the safety key to 0, remove the battery and wait a minimum of 5 seconds.
