Automower® Challenge 2016

The Husqvarna Automower® Challenge, was the UK’s first and biggest robotic lawn mower giveaway. After recruiting 100 participants from across the UK to trial the Husqvarna Automower® in their garden, they have provided feedback on their robotic lawn mowers performance.

The background

To qualify to take part in the Husqvarna Automower® Challenge, participants had to have access to a lawn which was between 500m2 and 6,000m2, be active on social media and be able to capture and upload video content online, to share their Husqvarna Automower® experiences.

The results

Since the installation of each participants Automower® the participants have since uploaded their videos directly onto our website and rated their robotic lawn mower on a number of categories . Husqvarna had no contact or influence on the reviews or videos. Check out the results on the Husqvarna Automower® Challenge Website. Needless to say they’re very impressed!

    Husqvarna Automower® Challenge 'Greatest Hits' - The best videos showcasing our robotic lawn mowers from 2016/17.

    After the success of 2016, the Husqvarna Automower® Challenge has returned for its second year. This year, 50 lucky new participants have been selected to test one of our flagship robot lawn mowers and our battery trimmers. Once again participants have been given the task of filming their shiny new Husqvarna robot mower in action and uploading their video reviews to social media.

    In collaboration with Quantified Planet and cities worldwide, Husqvarna is running an international robotic pilot to improve productivity and sustainability in the world’s parks. Robotic lawnmowers (Husqvarna Automower®) will be installed in seven cities across the globe, including Edinburgh and London in the UK, Gothenburg and Stockholm in Sweden, Almere and Leeuwarden in the Netherlands and San Francisco in the US.

    One Million Robotic Mowers Manufactured in the UK

    In April 2017, Husqvarna Group celebrated a landmark for robotic lawn mowing and British manufacturing as a whole producing its one millionth robotic mower at its UK headquarters in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
