In which temperatures can I use my BLi battery?

When using your battery, you have to be aware of the ambient temperature as well as the battery temperature.

Use the battery only when the ambient temperature is between -10°C (14°F) and 40°C (104°F). If the battery temperature is lower than -10°C (14°F) or higher than 70°C (158°F), the battery will not work during discharging. If the battery temperature is lower than 5°C (41°F) or higher than 50°C(122°F), the battery will not charge.

If you are working in very cold areas, try to keep the batteries at room temperature before using them. The batteries will work when the lowest battery temperature is -10°C (14°F) but you should expect limitations in terms of runtime and performance.

How to warm up the battery:

  • Keep it at room temperature.
  • Run the product on low power.

If you are working in very warm areas, try to keep the batteries cool before using them to avoid shut-down due to the battery pack overheating. Your product will shut down if the battery reaches 70°C (158°F) cell temperature.

How to keep the battery from overheating:

  • Do not use it in high ambient temperatures (higher than 40°C/104°F).
  • Do not use battery-powered tools for tasks they are not designed to perform (cutting tall grass with a battery-powered walk-behind mower requires more power).
  • Do not store the battery in an unsuitable, warm place like a car.
  • Do not leave the battery in the product (e.g. walk-behind mower) while in the sun.
