Weekly chainsaw maintenance

Your operator’s manual outlines general maintenance instructions, paying close attention to essential parts of the saw. These tips can minimise problems and help to create efficient and safe operating conditions.
An effective maintenance programme should also include scheduled maintenance visits and a product support relationship with your local authorised service centre.

Please note that all of the maintenance items described in this section have supporting diagrams in our product operator’s manuals:

  1. Check the starter, starter cord and return spring.
  2. Check that the vibration damping elements are not damaged.
  3. Lubricate the clutch drum bearing.
  4. File off any burrs from the edge of the bar.
  5. Clean or replace the spark arrestor screen on the muffler.
  6. Clean the carburettor compartment.

Important! Before operating your chainsaw, make sure that you review the chainsaw operator and safety manuals thoroughly. These manuals include safety warnings, the machine’s safety features and their functions, safe starting techniques, and inspection and maintenance requirements that will help to extend the machine’s life span.
