What is a chain catcher?

A chain catcher is a safety device that is designed to "catch" or stop the chain if it is thrown or derailed from the bar and prevent it from coming into contact with the operator. Chain catchers come in two designs; it is either plastic and part of the case or aluminium and fixed with a small bolt. Typically, the chain catchers can be replaced on all of our chainsaws.
