Does the Automower® 450X EPOS™ require a perimeter wire to be buried?

No. The Automower® 450X EPOS™ is completely wire-free. It uses Husqvarna's Exact Positioning Operating System (EPOS™), which relies on RTK satellite technology and a reference station to create precise virtual boundaries via the Automower® Connect app.

How large of a yard can the Automower® 450X EPOS™ maintain?

The 450X EPOS™ is designed for large properties and can maintain lawns up to 2.5 acres of grass. Because it uses systematic pattern mowing, it operates highly efficiently, making it ideal for large, open yards, estates, and complex landscapes.

What are the installation requirements for the EPOS™ Reference Station?

For the EPOS™ system to function with centimeter-level accuracy, the reference station requires an unimpeded, 135-degree clear view of the sky in all directions to maintain a strong connection with the satellites. Heavy, dense tree canopies or tall buildings blocking the sky will affect performance.

Can the Automower® 450X EPOS™ mow in straight lines?

Yes. Unlike traditional random-pattern robotic mowers, the 450X EPOS™ features Pattern Mowing. You can use the Automower® Connect app to select from a variety of patterns, including parallel stripes, checkerboards, and triangles, leaving a professional finish.

What is the maximum slope the 450X EPOS™ can navigate?

The Automower® 450X EPOS™ easily handles uneven terrain, navigating slopes up to 45% (24 degrees) inside the cutting installation and up to 15% along the virtual boundary.

How do I change the cutting height on the 450X EPOS™?

The cutting height is electronically adjustable between 0.8 inches and 2.4 inches. You can easily change this setting at any time directly through the Husqvarna Automower® Connect smartphone app.

Can I create stay-out zones if I have temporary obstacles or new landscaping?

Yes, the EPOS™ technology allows you to instantly create customizable stay-out zones directly in the app. This is perfect for protecting newly planted trees, seasonal flower beds, or areas undergoing temporary construction without needing to move any physical wires.

How long does the battery last, and what is the charge time?

The Automower® 450X EPOS™ provides a typical mowing time of 210 minutes on a single charge. When the battery runs low, it autonomously navigates back to its charging station, taking approximately 60 minutes to fully recharge before resuming.
