No, the Automower® 440 iQ features a completely wire-free installation. It utilizes Husqvarna’s EPOS™ (Exact Positioning Operating System) satellite technology to create virtual boundaries. You map your yard using the Automower® Connect app, allowing you to easily set cutting areas, stay-out zones, and pathways without burying physical wires.

Can the Automower 440 iQ mow my large lawn in stripes?

Yes! Thanks to EPOS™ technology, the 440 iQ supports a variety of mowing patterns. Using the Automower® Connect app, you can select systematic mowing patterns—including straight stripes or a checkerboard design—to give your property a professional, manicured look.

Will the 440 iQ work on steep hills or uneven terrain?

Yes, the 440 iQ is built with larger wheels and an optimized bumper to handle the diverse terrain of a large estate. It can easily navigate steep slopes of up to 45% (approximately 24 degrees) inside the boundary area without losing traction or tearing up the grass.

Does the Automower 440 iQ require a strong Wi-Fi signal across my entire 2-acre property?

The Automower® 440 iQ connects via cellular network and communicates with satellites using either Husqvarna Cloud or the included EPOS™ Reference Station. While Wi-Fi is not required for the mower to operate, it does provide quicker firmware updates and enhanced connectivity in areas with poor cellular service.

How high can the 440 iQ cut my grass?

You can easily adjust the cutting height from 1.0 to 4.0 inches directly from your smartphone via the app. The higher 4-inch maximum height is specifically designed to accommodate thicker American grass types like Tall Fescue and St. Augustine that thrive when kept taller.

Can the 440 iQ cross driveways or paths to mow different sections of my property?

Absolutely. Using the Automower® Connect app, you can map multiple, independent work areas and create transport paths. The mower's rugged bumper and large wheels allow it to safely cross driveways, sidewalks, or paved paths to seamlessly travel between different zones of your yard.

How is a mower this size protected against theft?

The Automower® 440 iQ is equipped with built-in theft protection. It features a loud anti-theft alarm that sounds if the mower is picked up. Additionally, the mower has GPS tracking, allowing you to instantly view its exact location via the Automower® Connect app. The mower is also PIN-code protected, meaning it cannot be operated by anyone else.
