Once assembled this little unit is appears to be very sturdy and well built. Fill the tank with the proper fuel mixture and follow the starting instructions and you will discover how sturdy it actually is. It starts with little effort and once running is far more quiet than my old unit. When handled with one hand, as having to open a gate it is quite obvious how well balanced it is. I also like the feature that the string head stops at idle. Overall very well built machine.

I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I want to return this trimmer? The are many things that I do like about it but I'm having trouble deciding if the pluses outweigh the minuses.Pros: starts easy, feels good in hands, decent weight, controls are well placed, little vibration, much more quieter than other trimmers I have used or owned.Cons: lacking in power (this is my biggest con and not currently sure where I sit in this respect). For instance, it starts real easy following the label directions and once warmed up it idles nicely BUT when I go to squeeze the throttle lever it has a hesitation and almost a bogging down effect. And even when it does finally move past that stage it never seems to run at its top end without sounding like in someway it's choking itself slightly. Another con that I didn't realize until after I purchased was it only accepts the "cheaper" branded attachments. Who wants to spend money on cheap stuff that won't last long. This unit I would think should at the very least accept its own branded (Husqvarna) attachments, why not!? One last con but small is this thing should come with a shoulder strap for its price but does not. I ended up buy a universal strap kit from the other company that make orange tools. It attached nicely on the shaft and is a much wider more comfortable strap than the cheaper ones I saw in store. So the engine issues can maybe be fixed with some tuneup but why should that even be an issue for me to address, it's brand new and should run at its best out of the box. Even if it is addresses with a tuneup I have to wonder if it is a early sign that it'll cause more issues down the road? Who knows? I should mention that I purchased the 50:1 Husqvarna premix fuel cans so I know it's not the fuel.Still, however, on the fence?

I would recommend this to everyone

I bought this to replace the 4 stroke string trimmer I had bought the year before that was nothing but problems. This one starts easily, runs well all day, and doesn't bog down. I have used it almost every weekend for 4 months solid and I have nothing bad to say about it. I work on a farm that is being used as as animal rescue, and keeping tall grass at bay is a big job. it trims well under fences, around drainage ditches and along side the buildings very well. The only thing I wish it had was a place to attach a shoulder strap to help with holding it for long periods of time. I had that on my old 4 stroke, it was great when working for more than about 2 hours.

This is my second 128LD. It runs great and plenty of power for home use but the quality is not as good as the first one. The craftsmanship is just not there. The engine and shaft do not line up well with the lower shaft so you have to hold it at an odd angle to trim level and that throws the balance off. The quality of the grip is not as good as the old one was either. Probably won't buy another one.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
professional attachment dont fit it.

bought this on salesmans recommendation and because of Husqvarna name. had anoter brand that died after 8yrs of moderate/ hard use. only used once but very satisfied so far
Sh..ty sh..ty product
Bought this a couple years ago. First off, the string spins counterclockwise, entirely opposite every trimmer I've ever had. However, the most annoying thing is that the thing won't stay running. I've changed the carburetor, plug and cleaned the filter to no avail. I've been nursing it along forever and I'm done. It's going in the trash and I'm changing to a cordless. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE IF JUNK
Very pleased with purchase

I purchased this about 3 weeks ago after my Ryobi 4 stroker blew the timing belt, never liked that trimmer. Have logged about 6 solid hours since, 3 hours each weekend stopping only to refuel and I am very happy with this trimmer so far. Things I really like: string head design-nothing gets wound up in it to slow its speed, it is low profile and i really like that you must really "bump" the feed button to get more string. The ryobi would feed line if you looked at it funny, which I hated. Also the shroud is a little wider so it throws less stuff on your pants. Nice job on the head design Husqvarna. I found the trimmer to be over all quite well balanced and easy to handle 1 handed if need be. I have 4 acres of yard area to trim and 60% of the trimming I can do at half throttle. Wind the engine up and it cuts through the long stuff quite nicely. If you follow the starting instructions (cold start) it starts exactly like the instructions say it will and it idles quite nicely after warm up. I have not tried connecting my attachments yet but it spins the same way as previous trimmer so don't expect any issues. I will confess I was a little concerned with buying this trimmer given some of the reviews but I am quite happy with this trimmer and hope it lasts for several years. I've had a 455 Rancher chainsaw for 10 years, cutting 8 cord of firewood every year and that thing is bullet proof, starts the 3rd/4th pull every time. If this trimmer is as bullet proof as my chainsaw I think my next riding mower will be a Husqvarna!

I am a HUGE HUSQVARNA fan, but not for this trimmer
from Riverview, Florida
This trimmer works great for about 3 years. How do I know this? Because I have had 2 of them and the same issue arose after that time frame. I have to admit, I used regular unleaded gas, but always HUSQVARNA oil. The problem is with the filter inside the gas take. I fails every time. The cheap tubing cracks and breaks and the filter pops off. This causes the trimmer to stall at high speed. The fuel has to come into the carb with the filter attached or it fails. the other flaw is the spark plug cable. The cable is so short that when you pull the plug, you usually break the wire end off the wire. Then it never goes back on the right way. As stated before, I am a HUGE fan of this manufacturer (I had a 10+ year mower and have had a pressure washer for 5 without issue), but I cannot reccomend this trimmer.

I use it around the house, a lot to trim considering fence posts, etc. best trimmer I've ever had. Fires up right when I need it, needed to adjust the carb to smooth out the power delivery and it's a monster. Better than the "other" orange brand my dad runs. Husky all the way.
