I spent so much time researching (a good half a year)... I was looking for a machine to handle about an acre of lawn but would give me the flexibility to run other equipment like a snowblower, and some pull equipment like a tine harrow (for a gravel driveway). I have some trees and a few smaller hills.I have owned the machine since June of this year and really had no intention of writing a review. However, every once in awhile you run into product where it becomes clear the designers had a magical moment and actually built a better mouse trap, so to say. Here are a few things that this mower does better than anything I have ever used (and I have been a professional landscaper and designer in the past and used nearly everything out there):- Handles hills wonderfully. I took it over a buddy's house to help him install his lawn by using my harrow to grade and rake the soil. He has enormous hills and the tractor handled them very well even pulling the heavy time harrow. This mower handles hills like a mountain goat. I found it very challenging to keep a zero turn going straight when crossing a hill. The front end wants to drop requiring constant correction. The same thing happens with traditional riders only worse as correction is often not possible. With its AWD, this rider just mows across hills effortlessly. The AWD makes up and down hills actually enjoyable with little or no risk of slip and seemingly unlimited power.- No trimming (zero). I use a Roundup type vegetation killer around my trees a couple times a year (careful not to spray the leaves on the smaller plants) and with the 11" turning radius trimming is a thing of the past. In fact, I use the vegetation killer to create about a 5" strip (barrier) around any stationary object in the yard and get a beautiful professional edge whether needing straight or natural lines along beds and structures. The front mounted deck is the final piece to having a zero trim lawn. I can scoot directly up to objects that can't be reached from the side. A zero turn or tradional rider just can't because the mid-mounted deck.Great handling:. I know zero turns usually have great transition between forward and reverse but this articulating mover is just as smooth with its foot peddles. The auto breaking feature makes for a nice slow down if used gently and the transition into reverse is smooth as silk. Using reverse is so fast and efficient, I find myself sometimes backing up even when I could do a 365 degree turn. This flexibility has allowed me to mow using diagonals and other directions to keep cutting angles variable from week to week.In the end, Huskvarna didn't invent anything new with this mower. Front mounted, rear engine, rear turn mowers have been around for decades. What Huskvarna did accomplish was to put a mower with these qualities within reach of any homeowner that was willing to purchase a rider in the first place.

I purchased this for my land, I have about 2.5 acres of grass on a decent slope with a few trees in the mix so when I read about this articulating AWD mower with a front mounted deck and available flail mower/plow/brush attachments for just over $5,000 I began to droll. truth is in this case the Idea of an affordable mower with these capabilities is as it seems... to good to be true. I purchased mine from a local dealer that was very helpful and has come to my house to pick this thing up and fix it more then my in-laws stop over to see there grandchildren. First off before I rant, This thing could be an amazing machine and when it works is the best thing sense sliced bread... ok on to the bad... I have owned it for maybe a year and have replaced both belts already.. and the belt going to the deck I have replaced 4 or 5 times and it is broken as I write this waiting for said local tractor shop to come pick it up, the Shute off the deck is so low grass gets built up under it and the belts cant compete with the load of the clogged up grass is what I thought, the local guy recommended I cut the Shute back and it seemed to work but then the belt snapped again. for over $5,000 I should be able to cut my grass without the belt breaking. this winter I was going to purchase the plow and its a good thing I attempted to start it prior to purchasing, I went out and nothing. It turns out the Local guy sold a few of these and had multiple complaints about it not starting on very cold days, yet again for over $5,000 this should not be an issue especially if they sell a brush and plow attachment for it. I would love this thing If these two problems would get resolved it could be an amazing machine but as it stands spend the extra money and get something else.

Perfect Residential Mower

About Me Do-It-Yourself
Comments about HUSQVARNA R 322T AWD:
I purchased my R 322T AWD (2016 model) used, with only 15 hours on it. I owned a Bolens Estate Keeper articulating mower back in the late 1980's and regretted that I had sold it. The Husqvarna R 322T AWD is a way better machine than the Bolens was. Plenty of power, very smooth and the AWD eliminates any issues with wet grass and/or grade changes. The design & engineering of this machine is far superior to any other mower I have seen in this price range. 5 STARS to Husqvarna for producing this model... It's amazing to me that Americans don't seem to grasp the benefits of articulated mowers. I plan to keep this machine till I'm no longer able to maintain my own property! Thanx Husqvarna!

I wouldn't buy this product again, unless re-engineered.

Dealer said, you won't be happy if your a country mower, he was right. With small ruts and holes, the wheels will fall in and wrench the steering wheel out of your hands. So you have to keep a death grip on the steering wheel. For the life of me, why didn't they slow the steering down, it's not a race car. Three turns lock to lock, instead of one turn, would greatly improve the steering, or power steering. Much larger wheels would greatly improve the handling on rough yards, evidently they have well manicured smaller yards in Europe. Developed a hydraulic leak and a broken seat cover, with-in two seasons. All in all, I loved the mower, but traded it off anyway, the problems need to be worked out, then I think you'll really have something. The articulating mower with a front deck that tilts up, in minutes is wonderful.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good hilly terrain mower
By many mowers, too little time
I needed better traction than my ZT was providing on hills and slopes, and general rough terrain. I like the mower except the way it's seat, pedals and steering wheel are situated. The seat is bolted to the frame in a way that allows for the bolts to back out of the frame members, the steering wheel is a bit too close to the operator and the reverse pedal is inconveniently located to make it easy to move one's foot from forward to reverse pedal. The seat can only be moved back so far, which is not far enough for a comfortable position for many people.Otherwise the mower does an excellent job of mowing on almost any terrain, hills, slopes and rough areas of less smooth lawnscape.I like the mower a lot, but would like to see the above mentioned things be better thought out/engineered.Cut quality is OK but not great. It does an adequate job, but the finish cut is not what my zero turn was capable of. Granted I didn't pay anywhere as much for the mower as I did for my zero turn.

I love the mower but it is impossible to get parts for it.
from Arnold, Mo
My steering rod broke after 25 hours of use. Its been a month and a half and Husqvarna still cannot give an eta on the new part. I love the mower but if I can't get parts when there is a problem its not something I would recommend to anyone else. I have been through their webpage and still cannot figure out how to contact them to make a complaint. I guess customer service is different in Europe.

Love the front deck, but transmission is garbage!
from Ontario, Canada
Loved the mower originally, but only after 15 hours had to replace the tranny. After 25 hours used, had to have tranny replaced again! Now, the latest tranny has issues as it slows speed down considerably and is not even close to the speed from before! Reverse sometimes doesn't and have to pump the reverse pedal to make it go in reverse! I'll be bringing it back in as i've only had this for a year and a bit and maybe they installed this tranny wrong! It also doesn't start very well, but so far always has! Also burns a bit of oil already! I loved the idea of the front mount deck to get under the trees and not thrilled with articulation but got used to it! My lawn is a bit rough and ride is not nearly as nice as my old John Deere! For the price of this machine, you wouldn't think I should have all these issues!

decent mower for hilly rough ground but a bit wimpy.
from Newport, WA
Not nearly heavy duty enough. Have combi deck ... the blades are soft and were badly beat up with first mowing. Added the Flail deck, it is somewhat more robust but is only marginally better in high brush, bogs down, not enough power. I am 6' tall, it is really cramped. Could be heavier, fill tires? or Wheel weights. Fill tires would make is more stable.

Have owned for 10 months now, mowed all last summer, very good mowing deck, excellent even smooth cutting, floating deck works fantastic! Also have the snowblower and snow blade attachment, disappointed that neither include a replaceable wear blade, I like to put my snow removal equipment right down on my concrete driveway, so a replaceable wear blade would be a plus, so I am not grinding the blade or blower down to nothing, the snow blade does have holes to attach one, so made my own out of 1/8"x3"x48" flat steel and bolted it on. Overall, Very Satisfied with this tractor and the optional attachments that I own. One thing I have noticed my tractor is hard to get it started after it has set for say a week without being started, have found the best way to get it started is to set throttle to 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and bump the starter a few times to get fuel pumped into the cylinder then crank the starter to get it started, using choke does not help that just floods it. In summation, it has it's quirks but overall the tractor and its attachments work well, and I am very pleased! When this one wears out, will definitely buy another one, the versatility of the power unit, with easy, quick to mount front attachments, and the variety of attachments available, plus the visibility offered with the front mowing deck, more than offset the small issues I have mentioned!

I was looking for a zero turn tractor that could have additional uses....I stumbled upon this model and although it's not zero turn...it's close enough for my purposes.I purchased the snow thrower attachment with the concern that it's a simple single stage unit. It worked very well this 1st year here in Spring Lake Michigan. We received a record snow far, well over 100 inches. My drive is 14' wide and well over 900' long. I also cleared the a second drive that was longer, but more narrow. No problems...however I did learn that you cannot go flat out full speed. You need to have the throttle full, however cannot go full speed. If you do you smell the belt slipping.Cutting grass is a dream, however I like my grass taller than most and have it set as high as possible. I have a hill that has a 30 degree slope that it handles very well however I feel that it would tip over with much more of an angle.Generally the steering is fine, however it does take a little to get use to it. My Wife can handle it after only a few minutes of complaining.
