I am a guy who does not buy a lot of new equipment, I repair other people old equipment and use it as mine. This time I decide I wanted a backpack blower. I didn't think twice about what brand to buy - as I had such a good experience with my Husqvarna 353 Chainsaw. Like the title says, I Love this blower. Very powerful, easy to use - well balanced. Day one of ownership I used it to clear almost 1 1/2 acres of leafs from my yard.If you are looking for a backpack blower - look no further!

I bought this model based on the reviews. Some were very negative but I assumed those people must not take care of their equipment. I do and have decades old lawn mowers. weed wackers etc to prove it. I used this one season, and when it was new it worked as advertised. I stored appropriately (drained the fuel from tank, carb, fuel lines etc) and now its trash. I tried to use it this summer/fall. In the summer it would bog down slightly when I would give it throttle. It got progressively worse until it wouldn't run beyond idle. I took it to a Husq. approved shop and it was denied warranty work. They blamed fuel. Fuel? YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!! We contacted Husq. and NO HELP AT ALL. Like I said I take care of my equipment and have a lawn mower (Toro) over 10 years old, riding mower (craftsman) over 10 years old, weed wacker (by weedeater) over 10 years old, chainsaw (poulan) over 10 years old: ALL OF THESE RUN LIKE A TOP. Its not me or the fuel, or care, it is A HORRIBLE LEAF BLOWER that is the problem

Nice Machine (while it lasts) FRUSTRATED!

Comments about 350BT:
This leaf blower did a great job for leaves in the yard and sweeping a lot of dirt and sawdust out of my driveway but before it was even 3 years old it developed mechanical issues. It runs fine on start up but after 10 minutes it will make knocking noise and die unless I reduce the throttle to 1/2 speed. I searched the internet for solutions... It seems their are countless 150BT and 350BT blowers with this "knocking and reduced power" issue. Every site says the same thing... use good gas... DUH. I only used recreational 93 octane fuel and Husky oil. I had it in for repair and tune up 2X and NO improvement. I AM FRUSTRATED! I would expect a no name machine to last 3 years. Husky has failed their name.

UNHAPPY WITH HUSQVARNA; 350BT is very good!
By Tom

This leaf blower is excellent. It started right up the first time out of the box as I followed all the instructions in the owner's manual and knew from this site to be sure and use Husqvarna fuel mix. I used it for 3 hours the first day. My problem was I could never get it started a second time. I tried everything I could think of before taking it in to a Husqvarna authorized dealer. When they told me they fixed it, I asked to speak to the technician and asked about the source of the problem. He said after going through his checklist, he determined it only needed a new spark plug and it was fine. Unfortunately, Husqvarana told the authorized repair shop that they would not cover the labor and parts costs to fix it ($71) as the spark plug was the customer's responsibility EVEN THOUGH I HAD ONLY USED THE BLOWER ONE TIME. The blower is great; I'm very disappointed in Husqvarna's service

New to back-pack blowers

Our property is an average sized residential lot. However, it is loaded with water oak trees. This leaves our front and back yard loaded with small leaves that are difficult to rake. The electric powered blower that I have just doesn't do the job. The HUSQVARNA 350BT makes short work out of what is normally a long day.Once the unit was un-boxed, assembled, and filled with fuel it started on the 3rd pull. I am extremely happy with the HUSQVARNA 350BT.The only "con" that was apparent with mine, and I suspect other units, is the packaging. Very poorly packaged. The fuel tank spout had actually poked a hole through the box. I was concerned that the tank might be damaged during transit however, it was not.I cannot comment on durability as I have only run 3 tanks of fuel through it.
Backpack blower....350BT

I like this blower....it was not carried in store at lowes so I ordered it online at the store to be shippped there. Online reviews showed this model had more power and quieter than the #150 that Lowes carries in stock.I do not like that they only carry QT cans of the 50:1 fuel. The company website shows that they are made but no one stocks them, that I can see. I do not want to use other fuel so as to void my warranty. Otherwise, I am pleased with the power and performance so far.
Works good hope it lasts a long time.

I have only used the blower about 5 hours but it started without a whimper even though it was 18°F and the unit was in the garage overnight and was cold soaked.I had to search for the primer bulb but after three pumps on the primer, setting control handle 2/3's position, choke on and pulling three pulls and it cranked right up. I switched the choke off and it smoothed out idling nicely. It started in one or two pulls after I learned how to set it up.The backpack adjustment took a bit of time because I spent 20+ years in the US Army so am a bit picky adjusting a backpack. After adjustment it sat properly on my back and is very comfortable. My first job was to blow 2 to 3 inch deep powder snow off of my sidewalks. It worked so well I also used it to clear my 93 foot driveway. My next use was to clear wet leaves from around the kids playground. The leaves were 3 to 6 inches deep and were very easy to move thanks to the high volume and speed of the blower air. I have dozens of oak trees to clean under so volume is very important to me. I blew the leaves into wind-rows about 2 to 3 feet deep then pushed them onto a canvas with a blade on my 4 wheeler to be dragged to my dump area in the valley. The blower was still moving leaves nicely when 2 to 3 feet deep. One negative is the cost of the Husqvarna 2 cycle oil which is required to maintain the warranty and to buy the premixed fuel is outlandish.I am also very careful to use fresh, 91 grade, no alcohol fuel. On all my equipment, chainsaw, seedeater etc I drain the fuel and run the motor dry before putting the equipment away even if it is going to be stored a few days. My Husqvarna weed eater has given me 5 years of service using this procedure so I expect the same of the leaf blower.I bought the unit from Lowe's so I could return it directly to Lowe's if there should be problems. So far I'm very satisfied with the blower.
BETTER THAN EXPECTED
By jetflyr

I researched this purchase long and hard, and decided that the 350 BT was the blower that I wanted. An very happy with the performance of the unit, it makes moving the leaves "almost" fun. As others have said, the tubes are a little difficult it attach, even with lubricant. The plastic cuff around the swivel tube that holds the handle broke within the first 15 minutes...hope that this is a fluke. Contacted customer service and have a replacement on hand.
Packaging, Placement and Production

Although the 350BT does not have quite as much power as I expected compared to my 30 year old hand held unit it is quite adequate to blow the leaves farther back into the woods including those matted up half rotted clumps from last year. There are a few things I was disappointed in shown next:- The box does not have much in the way of material to prevent the blower shifting during shipping. The owner's manual, sparkplug wrench and large hose clamp are in a plastic bag loose in the box. During shipping the box must have been stacked on its side. The bag must have been between the motor recoil starter and the side of the box. The hose clamp acted like a large cookie cutter, cut almost a complete circle out and through the owner's manual along with 2 fairly deep gouges in the recoil housing.- The placement of the carburetor's fuel lines and primer bubble are poor. To pump the primer bubble you have to stick your finger between the 2 fuel lines next to where they connect to the carburetor. I suspect after a couple of years the fuel line(s) will be cracked and need replaced.- The blast tube is an assembly of 3 sections. The belled end of the outer two is not sufficient to slide over the tapered end of the prior tube. I had to use a heat gun to soften the belled end enough to slide on and twist to lock. Of course to store the unit after use I would have to reheat the tubing to get it apart. I'll find a way to store it assembled.- The only other "con" I have is it would be nice if the pull start was in a position that allows restart without taking the backpack off.In general I like the tool and it does an adequate job of cleaning the leaves from a large yard in the center of the woods.
