I looked at many many leaf blower product reviews comparing power, eronometrics, features and weight. The 150BT is performing beyond my expectations. It usually starts on the first pull and makes short work of big clean-ups. It's quiet and uses minimal fuel. The engine burns clean and does not emit strong hydrocarbon by-products from the exhaust which are not good for environment or humans unsing the blower. The only comment for improvement for this great product is that some lubricant should be recommended in the manual that can be put on the blower tubes since the are somewhat difficult to assemble and turn to lock them together. This is definately a thumbs up product!

Perhaps someone can explain or figure out if the unit I bought was out of spec of had a defect...Out of the box, WITH THE FREE PREMIX FUEL from Husquavarna, my unit of the 150BT Model would accelerate rpms smoothly then either:A) Almost 85% consistency, when I would throttle down/rpm deceleration, unit would make a horrible gnarly 'missing' grinding type sound....---> At LEAST VERY UNPLEASANT sound unlike any other mfr's similar blower I've used----> At Worst, sounded so bad and mechanically wrong, almost certain this unit is self destructing. This noise cannot come from a machine that is operating correctly - noise is surely that of an imminent mechanical (premature) failure pending. Only question is how soon after warranty will it lose significant performance followed by a failure...*** The worst kind - not enough to be catastrophic right away - almost surely NOT UNTIL AFTER WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. A machine making this noise, right out of the box, simply cannot possibly not be in for an early grave or expensive repair bills out of own pocket.**** I am NOT trying to rip this machine and give it a bad rap... Quite the contrary. I returned Husqy to Lowes, got my money refunded back. I then decided to pay over $100 more for a certain white/orange German engineered machine (BR 350) that had less than the performance measurements/specs of the Husqy.--> [BR 350] did not have any strange decelerating rpm noises, however it was NO WHERE NEAR THE PRICE:PERFORMANCE RATIO of this Husquavarna 150BTThe German machine, despite being OVER $100 more, had very poor ergonomic build quality compared to the Husquavarna 150BT (can't comment about the mechanical build quality, as I am not qualified, nor did I examine both of the internal mechanical parts, ect...But as an example of the Husky's value - this orange and white BR 350 had the cheapest shoulder strap padding I'd ever experienced (have had cheap backpacks with this level of material quality)... Furthermore the BR 350 lacked any type of back padding except the very bottom. There were empty holes where the upsale model (over $250 more than the Huquavarna 150BT) includes full padding IF you fall for the upsale model for $150 more to the next model up.Husquavarna is appreciated and to be commended for not playing this game - whoring basic features/build quality for a several hundred dollar more costly model. The Husky 150BT offers excellent features and ergonomics at this mid price point model----> I want to be reassured by a Husquavarna representative that my particular unit's grinding decelerating rpm noise was an anomaly - a 'bad unit' and NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF A PROPERLY FUNCTIONING Husquavarna 150BT UNIT.... *** But not LIED TO:If there are a large number of units that happen to make this noise or all of them do,please just say this is the way they sound and we'll leave it at that---> Also need to be assured that in the event I get another 150BT unit that makes these unacceptable sounds, that Husquavarna will arrange a full 100% refund - as I'm not comfortable returning a second unit to Lowes and getting labeled a habitual returner -> AS I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT LOWES AND BEST BUY BOTH USE SIMILAR OR SAME THIRD PARTY RETURN TRACKING FIRM THAT FLAGS CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE ABNORMAL RETURN FREQUENCY. Once you're marked in that firms database as a habitual returner -> ANY RETAILER WHO USES THAT RETURN TRACKING FIRM's DATABASE / SERVICE WILL MARK YOU AND POTENTIALLY LIMIT and/or DENY RETURNS all together. Due to my experience with this blower, it is extremely critical that I enjoy a consumer's right to a refund - especially when dealing with the high priced equipment I tend to buy as a single nonreturnable mistake or bad unit could cost me an awful lot!

Sorry Honey, I Just Wanted To Try It Out
from Western Colorado
After a quick assembly of the elbow and tubes (use a little spray lubricant when mating the tubes, on the inside tube surface, they turn/tighten much easier), I told my wife I was only going to "try it out." I put 1/2 can of Husky premix fuel in the tank and pulled the starter cord twice to start the blower (with choke on), turned the choke off, walked out of the garage, put the blower on my back and blew the leaves off my 1/2 acre front yard to the street. Ops, sorry honey. What has normally been an all-day job for me in the past, took under 45 minutes. Why didn't I purchase one of these years ago??? After reading a bunch of reviews on-line, I agree that this blower is well worth the price, delivering high performance with minimal effort and cost. It was easy to operate, functioned well, easy to control, wasn't heavy (but I'm 6-4, 195 lbs) and blew like crazy when the throttle was cranked. It also performed well at low RPMs/low blowing force, when I was making my neat leaf piles on the street. Go figure, getting the leaves off the front lawn was actually fun. Did I say I liked the cruse control throttle feature?! FYI, I did purchase the three quarts of Husky pre-mixed fuel when I purchased the blower, and got the extended warranty, thanks Husqvarna! Oh, by the way, the people that say the gas purge bulb is difficult or in a bad spot, they are just lazy.

Blow the stripes off a Zebra
from North Carolina (NC)
I just got this unit and have used it only once. I would have given more stars on the ergonomics but the shoulder straps are hard to get used to and makes the blower difficult for an older guy to put on. The blower started right up and is fairly quiet for an engine this size. I have an acre lot and it used an entire can of Husqvarna gas to do. I suppose a big blower a big fuel user. The power is great, this blew piles of leaves that I thought I would have to rake. It had great action up to ten feet away. I'm glad I bought it and know because it's a Husqvarna it will be working great for years to come.
I would buy another product by Husqvarna.

I used for blowing off debris like leaves and gutter. But I didn't use gutter tube I had to get on top of the house that was dangerous. I almost lost my balance. That leaf blower so powerful with 251 mph air force. Wow! it's fast. GIT-R-DONE!!!
Great backpack blower
from Galena, IL
The Husqvarna Backpack 150 did a great job in blowing my leaves. It was relatively quiet, especially when one wears ear protectors, and is pretty comfortable, albeit somewhat heavy. The only problem I had was that when starting the blower out of the box, it would only run when the choke was on. When trying to take off the choke, it died. I had to immediately have the carburetor replaced. This model does not allow the carburetor to be adjusted, so service had to replace it.
I would definitely buy this product again
from Elysburg, PA
I use my 150BT to clean up lawn clippings and heavy leaf build up in the fall. I purchased mine at Twin Ponds Engine Service in Danville, PA. I was looking at another high end brand and this one. The guys at Twin Ponds told me that for the money this would be a wise choice. They took it off the rack as it was already assembled, started it up and made sure it was tuned properly. That's the difference from buying from a dealer rather than the big box stores. I've had this blower for two years. I haven't had one issue with it. I only use 93 octane gas mixed with Husqvarna oil. When cold I prime it three times, close the choke and it starts on the first pull. I let it warm for 15 seconds and then open the choke and it's ready to go with excellent trigger response. I purchased a flat nozzle for it and it makes a world of difference as it was blowing stones with ease. Do not choke the engine when it is warm or you will have a rough time starting it and flood the carburetor. Don't forget to open the choke. This is the best blower I've ever owned.
Great Quality; but, nozzle assembly and directions need work
from Littlerock, CA
The unit comes almost completely assembled. Except for the blower nozzle tube. There isn't an exploded view that shows the order and direction of assembly. The trick is to slide the trigger on from the far end of that tube unit. It took me 20 plus min to figure it out. I'm not stupid. It just was not obvious to me. A quick graphic indicating that would have helped. Also, when I tightened down the bolt for the trigger assembly, the wing nut didn't turn and the other end pushed through the capped nut. Ugly, but worked. I can always replace the nut for a few pennies. The right side harness kept falling off. No matter how tight I pulled it. I'll have to tie or clip it to the left one. I'm tall and the nozzle tube could be a little longer 1ft. I had trouble getting under some bushes. (Being picky, I can buy an additional extension...I think.)Finally, I ran it for 2-3hrs and it worked very well. The Trigger unit was comfortable and very easy to use. I had planned to use ear plugs; but, never felt I needed them. I was running late after the long assembly time. Next time I'll use them. Everything listed above is easy to fix. I'm happy with the unit and the purchase!
I LOVE it
I have gone through so many of the cheap leaf blowers, I finally decided to try the big boy! I hate anything being on my drive way< I think I'm getting older< this thing made short work of the job. Its not to heavy, quite and blows like crazy!!!!!! I hate that I'm this excited about a leaf blower however I would recommend this blower time and time again.
from Collierville TN
great blower for the money. Lite weight and full of power. Uses more fuel than prior blower but well worth the investment.

Purchased this product in the fall of 2015 and used it twice before season end and it worked great. Used it twice this year 2016 and it worked great. Third time this year and the machine will not operate past idle and I can rake as fast as this machine at idle. Called the customer support 800 for a homeowner machine, today is Sunday 1:00 pm to find out that there is not customer service other than M - F for a homeowner machine. Now I am concerned that as we enter snow season I will have a like results with the Husqvana snow blower used once in 2015 for this season. Walk away from this product.
