A very powerful saw from our latest generation of large professional saws. The 395XP is engineered with the professional logger in mind. Designed for the most demanding conditions a logger may face. The 395XP is unique due to its more rugged handle design, more aggressive clutch, and wider clutch cover for better dispersal of wood chips. This saw also has the power and balance to take longer bar lengths.

I bought this saw early March 2013 from Pantano power Equipment in Manalapan, NJ. The saw came with a 32" bar and full skip square ground chisel chain. Pantano also threw in a 20 inch bar which was awesome! The first tree I had to cut up with this saw was a 42" red oak that was knocked down by Hurricane Sandy. During the first tank of gas, I was going easy with the saw. The second time I filled the gas tank, ( I only use Husky's bottled 95 octane pre-mix fuel) I let this saw come alive and it ate the whole tree up. I am so impressed with the power of this saw. It's in a different league than my Ms 660. I was able to buck the tree in 10ft. lengths and the cuts were as smooth as a baby's bottom. Before I purchased this saw, I was using my Ms 660 to do the big jobs, but I had to clean it's air filter all the time. I realized after using this saw, I did not have to keep cleaning the air filter, and the power difference is very noticeable. The 395xp is the best/baddest saw in my collection. Don't get me wrong, I love my Ms660, but the 395xp is a couple notches better than the Ms660. From now on, big tree jobs are taken cared of by my 395xp, and 576xp!!!

I bought this saw to share the workload with my 372 doing landclearing and firewood on my farm. For the first couple weeks i was very pleased with it then it developed a problem where it would run good for 10-15min then sputter out and quit. Then it needs to sit for 30+ min before it will fire up again. It does this consistently. I took it to a local dealer and they though they fixed it but the problem remains. Its back in the shop now and they really dont know what the problem is. I bought it from a dealer online in new jersey and i dont know if ill have to bring it back there if the local shop cant get it going. The six month warrantee is running out and ive hardly gotten to use it.

About Me Professional
Comments about HUSQVARNA 395 XP®:
Reliable back-up/bail-out saw to my 372. Balances well with a 24-28" bar. Lots of torque, even with an 8-sprocket. (Sprocket changes are miserable with this saw, but nessecary, as the chain speed is a little slow out of the box.) Relatively easy re-build. Chain brake is only pinned on one side, makes it seem flimsy. Chain tensioner screw is a pain to access next to the bar.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Do-It-Yourself
I purchased the 395 XP recently with a 20 inch bar for my heavy work jobs in the forest. It extends my saws since every has its working range. This saw come from Panano Powerequipment in New Jersey. The saw comes in a box with separate bar on the outside. Also the chains are separately packed. I selected a 20 inch bar with 0,058 gauge, 72 teeth chisel chains. As bar follows a full steel, not laminated bar with exchangeable bar tip.Mounting of the bar and chain is as usual simple, the chain tensioner is on the inside of the bar. This is my preferred positon since the bar is very easily mounted. When the tensioner is on the outside in the clutch cover, the hole in the bar and the tensioner are not as simple to assemble. I know this from my Rancher II 460.The saw body is ashonishing small for this size of a saw, pretty slim and easy to carry. However its not light weight, Since the rugged bar is a full steel bar this adds some weight to the saw. Both tanks are big enough for long time work processes.Body and clutch cover are made from aluminum alloy. This makes the body very solid, but keeps weight out.The oil pump is adjustable from underneath and clearly marked. In the manual the oil pump is automatic, on the web side adjustable. It is adjustable.Choke and kill switch are on both sides of the rear handle and not combined as on the Rancher II 460. The kill switch is loocated left, the choke to the right. Both easy to reach. As on my model 61 the kill switch is a shift button.Out in the field the saw shows all its power. Having seven hores in the hand makes working much easier and let jobs done quickly. I started with bucking then felling. The saw shows all its strength in hard wook as hickory or large diameters; it has no problems to cut it whatsoever.Handling in the field is simple, but its is aadvisable to have a smaller saw handy for smal jobs. This is a big saw!Starting the saw is easy, I do not use the decomp valve at all. Works without.
Heavy woekhorse for all kinds of jobs
I had the pleasure to run this saw several times and now have my own. Ordered it from Pantano Power Equipment. Very good service, very fast, very friendly.Purchased the saw with 20 inch bar, 0.058 gauge. The saw shall in he first hand cut medium size trees to big trees. The engine starts very easy, decp button helps, but pressing of it is not absolutely required. Saw runs very calm, you can feel the big cylinder volume. It is very easy to carry, very well balanced, hardly feel the 17 pounds weight. The engine has no problems to cut soft and hard wood. Its a pleasure to run the saw. My 460 Rancher is already good, the 395 really bites the teeth in the wood. Big difference.

Very Power Saw. Should be operated by a Professional

I have been operating chain saws for approximately 40 years and this is one of the best I have ever used. The raw power of the engine turn the chain with so much torque, it blows threw hard wood with ease. I operate my 395 XP with a 20 inch bar and a stihl rapid super chisel tooth chain. This combination is fast and very aggressive, just ripping threw wood with minimal downward force because of the weight of the saw. I realize the this saw is capable of being operated with a much longer guide bar, This Saw will definitely make small work out of your cutting needs.

This 395XP chainsaw has the power I expected it to have. Keeping the saw chain sharp and chainsaw clean cannot be overemphasized for confidence of your use. I use Husqvarna bar/chain oil and their 50 to 1 mix two-stroke fuel for my own peace of mind on the liquids utilized. As a matter of interest to a person who has just purchased this 395XP or other Husqvarna product, this website reveals more information when you create an account and sign in.
Great powerful saw
I recently bought a used 394 xp and a 395xp both saws are great and have more power then all but the 120 cc saws. I've been running the saw everyday and it never feels like the saw is over worked. I've been running a 32" bar and cutting from 5' trees to 27" and love the saws power and speed of cutting. It normally only takes 3-5 pulls to fire and run and really for its size does decent on fuel.

What a saw !!!
from Northern Maine
I have been using Huskys for over 30 years, in fact I still have my old 285 CD saw that has cut hundreds of cords plus I have lumbered with it as well....The 395 XP reminds me of that saw as the power is there!...plus it is smoother and is much quieter.....this saw is not for beginners!!.....it is extremely powerful and will blaze through the wood....it's a beast !!!.....but for the regular saw and professional users out there....ENJOY !!!

A "hot" saw !
Originally, to upgrade from our 30cc echo, I purchased a refurbished Husqvarna 445 on ebay for $200, then ordered a longer bar for it, from a Jonsered dealer. While there, it miraculously happened without preplanning to do so, that I evenly traded the 445 away for a used 395xp, that he had sitting there. A former owner had traded it in for a smaller and lighter Jonsered. Neither I nor the dealer even knew how many cc's it had, until getting back home, and I was flabbergasted !2 years later, I discovered that this particular saw is heavily ported. Not only is this machine a high performance saw, it is also on steroids ! heh heh hehWith a properly sharpened chain, it flies thru wood !
