I've used gas chainsaws for 37 years; but this electric (battery) powered chainsaw outperforms for certain jobs! I've used this to clear irrigation ditches of downed brush, limbs and tree trunks. It's light, nimble, easy to use and the batteries last surprisingly long. The chainsaw is quiet and when you set it down there's no idling motor noise. I get at least two battery changes before having to refill the bar oil tank. I really like the bar length and the cutting power of this saw. I can reach into bushes and cut just what I want and the saw is light enough if I'm fully extended it doesn't get tiring. It's so light and maneuverable my wife loves to use it. So, after trying the saw for smaller jobs I thought I'd pit it against my gas saw for wood cutting. Now, keep in mind Husqvarna doesn't promote this saw as a gas equal, but what the heck I need to cut some firewood anyway. With just two batteries I cut enough to fill two rows at the back of my truck about 30" high or about 1/3 of a cord. Some the pieces cut were 18" logs and slightly wet. The saw did extremely well. I overheated the battery twice after cutting excessively large logs right in a row. After two to three minutes I was cutting again. In my opinion the best uses of this saw are pruning, cleaning up around the yard, fencing (cutting fence post tops), camping, ditch cleaning, homeowners who don't want to mess with gas and oil fuel mixtures, and anytime you need a super quiet chainsaw, such as back country events. Granted you will need extra batteries if you plan to cut a lot; but 1 battery goes a fair distance. I'll definitely be recommending this to friends with the above needs.

Has been very reliable around my yard for cutting limbs and small trees. My old chainsaw had a cord so you needed a very long exstinsion cord to get around the yard. I don't have Redwoods in my yard so I can't give a review of cutting bigger trees. I have one dead tree next to the house I will be trying it on soon when I have some help. I do believe I will have no trouble using this chainsaw on it. The battery seems to stay charged as long as I need it. Only issue was trying to figure out how to start it.

I have used this chainsaw on several 4inch diameter live trees and large tree branches. It did the job without effort! The battery had one bar out of 3 left after 40 minutes of use. I love the smooth electric motor. Starts without effort. There are no fumes, no fuel, no pull string. It is much quieter than a gas motor chainsaw. It is light weight.

I have owned countless chainsaws so I understand them, but I still read the entire Owners Manual and Quick Start flyer. Instructions were clear and the illustrations helped explain the text. All illustrations were on the same page which helped make following along easier. Battery is easy to handle, easy to charge and I really like the pushbutton Battery life indicator. The weight is perfect — not too heavy to be hard to handle but heavy enough to keep the saw on the limb when cutting. It's also well balanced and handles well all-around. The maintenance items of adding chain oil, and chain tension are easy to operate and work very well. The battery life is more than enough and I like that you can run it at full open or reserved. The run time on the battery is all one would need but since all of the 120i tools use the same battery, chances are a user would have more than one battery if needed. This chainsaw fills a great niche for a primary home, second homes, weekend cabin. The problem with gas saws (and I have owned many) is that they don't do well sitting for an extended time. They need to be run. And if you only use them 1-3 times a year chances are when you go to start it, it's not going to start — and I don't care how well you winterized it. And when it doesn't start you either have to have it repaired or rent one. In either case the cost is going to make you think about buying another. So in essence the gas saws are close to throwaways, which is expensive. I also have tried the electric saws but dragging out the cord is tedious and it limits you to just around the perimeter of the structure near a receptacle. The 120i chainsaw is perfect. You can use it around the property or easily transport it in a truck or on a 4 wheeler or it is not too heavy to carry. Also using this chainsaw without the noise, odor and vibration of a gas unit is a pleasant surprise. This is a great product

I don't use chainsaws often and do not consider myself an expert by any means. But for the few times things fall that need to be cut up before they can be carried off, this works great. It's easy to handle and gets the job done.

Just got back from property around the corner. Several branches down. Some fairly large. Chainsaw did a great job cleaning things up. Lightweight and powerful. No need to mix fuel and add bar/chain oil. Really like it!

We had quite the windstorm and I lost about 20 branches in the backyard ranging from 5-12". I was really impressed with how easy to get up and running with the saw. it was ready to cut within minutes of getting it out of the box. I started cutting and was amazed with how quiet it was, but what really blew me away was how easily it cut through the limbs. Even with the larger branches it cut very easily and was by far the best i ever felt after using a saw for an extended period. I cut for about 1 1/2 hrs, and the battery was still had plenty of power with 2 bars still showing. Absolutely would recommend this saw.
