Robotic Mowing at Barton Hills Country Club
Barton Hills Country Club is an 18-hole championship golf course located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Designed by legendary architect Donald Ross and established in 1919, it features a par-71 layout stretching over 7,000 yards. As an early adopter of autonomous mowing, the Barton Hills course was one of the first in North America to maintain fairways and roughs with autonomous mowers. In this testimonial video series, you’ll meet Andrew Christesen, Barton Hills’ Golf Course Superintendent, and hear why he chose to maintain Barton Hills with Husqvarna robotics.
Part 2: Cut Quality & Turf Health Benefits
Learn more about the cut quality and turf health benefits the Barton Hills’ team has noticed since switching to robotic mowers. Compared to traditional mowers, robotic mowers are much lighter in weight – hear Andrew explain how important this is in establishing new turf.
Part 4: The Player Experience
Because at the heart of it all, the player’s experience is the most important part. Andrew confirms that members and club staff alike enjoy seeing mowers on the course and understand the benefits. The daily maintenance of the turf means consistent playing conditions, without the emissions and noise of traditional gas mowers.
Part 5: Dealer Partnership
It’s the final piece in our robotic mowing solution: an expert local dealer who can help take you from demo to installation to troubleshooting. Andrew says it’s crucial: “Being able to get parts, service, and questions answered sets Husqvarna above all other robotic mowers.”
