The Husqvarna 225i kit is a complete "ready-to-work" solution. It includes the 225i 14-inch cordless chainsaw, one 40-B140 (4.0 Ah) 40V lithium-ion battery, and a 40-C80 charger. Because it uses the BLi-X 40V/40V battery system, the included battery can also power other Husqvarna handheld tools like trimmers and blowers.

How long does it take to charge the 40-B140 battery included with the 225i?

Using the included 40-C80 charger, the 4.0 Ah battery typically reaches a 100% charge in about 2 hours and 40 minutes. If you need faster turnaround for larger projects, the battery is compatible with Husqvarna's rapid chargers (like the 40-C250X), which can reduce charging time to under 60 minutes.

Does the Power Axe 225i require special chainsaw oil?

No, the 225i uses standard Bar and Chain Oil, just like a gas saw. However, because it is an electric saw with a precise automatic oiler, we recommend using a high-quality vegetable-based or synthetic oil (like Husqvarna Bio Chain Oil) to prevent "clogging" during long periods of storage. Always check the transparent oil tank window before use to ensure the bar stays lubricated.

How much wood can I cut on a single charge with the 225i?

When using a new, fully-charged Husqvarna 4 Ah battery on normal mode, the 225i can typically handle 190 cuts on a 4x4 before battery is depleted.  For larger residential tasks like felling a small 10-inch tree and bucking it into firewood, one battery charge is usually sufficient. To maximize runtime, only engage Boost Mode for thick, stubborn logs.

Is the Husqvarna 225i battery waterproof for use in the rain?

While the Husqvarna 225i is built for durability, it is not waterproof and should not be used in active rain or heavy snow. The battery is designed with a horizontal "pass-through" housing to protect it from wood chips and debris, but moisture can damage the electrical contacts and the brushless motor. Always store the saw and battery in a dry, climate-controlled environment when not in use.
