Check Husqvarna Cloud coverage

The mower uses satellite-based technology (EPOS) and needs to receive data by either:

Husqvarna Cloud (Currently available in select locations)
Husqvarna Reference Station (included in the box)

New boundary-wire free technology

Husqvarna EPOS™ (Exact Positioning Operating System) is a breakthrough technology for Automower® robotic lawn mowers. The satellite-based technology enables the mower to work within virtual boundaries. The absence of physical boundary wire means no wire breaks and more flexible area management. Perfect for open yards, sports fields, golf courses, city parks and corporate campuses!

Featuring both random and pattern mowing, EPOS™ robotic lawn mowers allow you to choose from a variety of patterns, such as parallel stripes and checkerboard, all while maintaining an even lawn. All of this can be controlled from the Automower® Connect smartphone app!

Multiple Installation Options

EPOS™ via Husqvarna Cloud

Set up made simple with Husqvarna cloud network coverage. This option eliminates the need for a local reference station. Instead, you can connect to our national Husqvarna Cloud network. The robotic lawn mower receives the satellite correction data via the internet and requires a constant internet connection, either through a mobile network or Wi-Fi.

EPOS™ via Reference Station

Reliable mowing performance with Husqvarna reference station (Included in the box). This option works for most mowing areas and provides the highest accuracy. Reference station must have clear 135-degree view of sky in all upper directions.

Husqvarna EPOS™ utilizes RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) positioning, a satellite navigation technique that provides centimeter-level accuracy in seconds. And, without physical boundaries, you can easily create multiple work areas with different settings or change them completely as your needs evolve. All you need is your smartphone and the Automower® Connect app.

Do I need boundary wire with an EPOS- enabled Automower?

EPOS-enabled models allow wire‑free virtual boundaries using satellite precision. Satellite precision can be achieved with our national Husqvarna Cloud network or via a personal reference station. Customers have the option to utilize some boundary wire in areas of heavy shade, but it is not required.

What is the difference between installing via Husqvarna Cloud or Installing via a reference station?

Your EPOS-enabled Automower relies on satellite precision to effectively cut your lawn. The satellite connection can either come from our national Husqvarna Cloud network or a personal reference station. If the property falls within the Husqvarna Cloud coverage map , you do not need to install a reference station. You will be able to connect to Husqvarna Cloud via the Automower Connect app in just a click! If you do not fall within the Husqvarna Cloud coverage map, no worries! We include a reference station in the box.

How do I know if I have Husqvarna Cloud coverage?

Click here to check if your property falls within the Husqvarna Cloud network coverage. If it does not, no worries! A personal reference station is included in the box. Husqvarna Cloud Network coverage is expanding constantly.

Is Husqvarna Cloud coverage the same as cellphone coverage?

No, Husqvarna Cloud coverage is not the same as cellphone coverage.

What do I need before starting a wire‑free installation?

A mower that supports EPOS, a charging station with clear sky view, a stable Wi‑Fi or 4G connection across the mowing area for cloud‑based EPOS where applicable, and the Automower® Connect app download on your smartphone.

If I install with a reference station, where do I place it?

The reference station requires an open sky view (135-degree cone) and access to a power outlet. Please know that if the reference station is moved after you have created your virtual boundaries, your map will need to be re-created. For more information, please watch our reference station video. If you have any questions at any point, don’t hesitate to reach out to our dedicated robotics help line!

Do I need to install the reference station if I have Husqvarna Cloud?

No. If you fall within the Husqvarna Cloud Coverage map, you do not need to install the reference station. Enable EPOS via Husqvarna Cloud with a click of a button within the Husqvarna Automower Connect app.
