Lifted/Alarm! Mower lifted – Automower® error message
Automower® has stopped and is showing the message Lifted or Alarm! Mower was lifted. These messages appear when the lift sensor detects that Automower® has been picked up or tilted beyond the permitted angle. They can also be triggered by physical conditions in the work area, such as obstacles or uneven terrain.
Step 1 - Move Automower® to a clear area
If Automower® is stuck on an obstacle or in a problematic area, move it by hand to a flat, clear surface before proceeding. Take note of where Automower® was when it stopped, as the location may help you identify the cause in Step 3.
Step 2 - Stop the alarm and restart Automower®
If the alarm is active, enter your PIN code on Automower® to stop it. Then restart Automower®. See How to restart or reset your Automower® robotic lawn mower.
You can adjust the alarm settings in the app or on the robotic lawn mower’s display, depending on the model. In the Automower® Connect app, go to More > Settings > Security > Theft Protection. For models with a display, go to Menu > Security > Advanced.
Step 3 - Find and resolve the cause
If the message appears again after restarting, work through the possible causes below.
The cutting height is set too low or the grass has grown too high
The cutting height is set too low or the grass has grown too high
High grass or a cutting height set too low increases the resistance on Automower®, which can cause the lift sensor to trigger. Increase the cutting height to the maximum setting and allow Automower® to mow. Then gradually lower the cutting height back to the desired level.
Roots, stones or other obstacles are sticking up from the ground
Roots, stones or other obstacles are sticking up from the ground
Driving over raised objects such as tree roots or stones can cause Automower® to tilt sharply, which triggers the lift sensor. Remove the objects from the work area, or exclude the affected area by creating a stay-out zone in an EPOS® installation, a stay-out zone using AIM Technology, or an island in a boundary wire installation.
Automower® is operating on gravel, stone, or paved surfaces
Automower® is operating on gravel, stone, or paved surfaces
Abnormal vibrations on hard surfaces can trigger the lift sensor. Exclude the affected area from the work area by creating a stay-out zone in an EPOS® installation, a stay-out zone using AIM Technology, or an island in a boundary wire installation. If Automower® is equipped with terrain kit wheels, switching to standard wheels will reduce vibrations on hard surfaces.
The boundary wire or virtual boundary is installed too close to a slope
The boundary wire or virtual boundary is installed too close to a slope
If Automower® slides over a hill, the tilting motion can trigger the lift sensor. Check that the boundary wire or virtual boundary is not set too close to any slopes in the work area, and adjust the installation if needed. Read more about how Automower® handles slopes.
Grass or debris is caught under the cutting deck or body
Grass or debris is caught under the cutting deck or body
Grass clippings, mud or other debris caught between the body and the chassis can put pressure on the lift sensor. Check for buildup under the cutting deck, around the wheels and between the body and chassis, paying particular attention to the fixing points where the body meets the chassis. Clean Automower® thoroughly and restart.
The product body is not fully attached
The product body is not fully attached
A loose product body can press against the lift sensor and trigger the message repeatedly. Press each corner of Automower® firmly to make sure that the body is fully attached to its fixing points.
