How to clean a garden tractor
For your Husqvarna garden tractor to work optimally and at the highest capacity, you need to clean it before and after each use.
CAUTION: Do not use a high-pressure washer or a steam cleaner. Water can get into bearings and electrical connections and cause corrosion, which causes damage to the product.
WARNING: Before cleaning the product, make sure that it is turned off.
Cleaning a petrol-powered garden tractor
- Do not clean hot surfaces such as engine, muffler and exhaust system. Wait until the surfaces are cool, then remove grass or dirt.
- Before cleaning the product with water, clean it with a brush. Remove grass cuttings and dirt on and around the transmission air intake and the engine.
- Use running water from a hose to clean a garden tractor. Do not use a pressure washer.
- Do not aim the water at electrical components or bearings.
Cleaning a cutting deck on a garden tractor
Cleaning a cutting deck on a garden tractor is the same for both battery-powered and petrol-powered products.
WARNING: Do not use the product with a broken or missing deck washout port. There is a risk of objects being ejected. Replace a broken or missing deck washout port immediately.
- Park the product in a clean area on your lawn that is near a water source with a garden hose.
- Make sure that the cutting deck is disengaged.
- Stop the engine.
- Apply the parking brake.
- Connect the garden hose (A) to the deck washout port (B) and start the water supply.
- Sit in the seat and start the engine.
- Engage the cutting deck and let it operate at full throttle until the cutting deck is clean.
- Disengage the cutting deck and stop the engine.
- Stop the water supply and disconnect the garden hose from the deck washout port.
- Move the product to a dry area.
- Sit in the seat and start the engine.
- Engage the cutting deck and let it operate until the cutting deck is dry.
