Protect your Automower® robotic lawn mower during thunderstorms

To reduce the risk of damage to electrical components in your Automower® robotic lawn mower and its charging station, we recommend disconnecting all connections to the charging station (power supply, boundary wire and guide wires) if there is the risk of a thunderstorm.

General instructions

  1. Tilt the cover of the charging station.
  2. Disconnect the power supply connector.
  3. Mark the cables for easy reconnection. The charging station’s connections are labelled AR, AL and G1 (plus G2 and G3 for models supporting more than one guide wire).
Disconnect all connections to the charging station
  4. Disconnect all wires.
  5. Close the charging station cover to protect the connections from rain.

For Automower® NERA models

Watch this video and follow the steps described below to disconnect the wires and power supply on Automower® NERA models.

  1. Gently lift and tilt the top of the charging station.
  2. Open the hatch.
  3. Disconnect the power supply connector.
  4. Disconnect the loop wire connector.
  5. Close the hatch and tilt the top of the charging station back into position.

EPOS™ reference station

To minimise the risk of damage to the reference station’s electrical components, disconnect the power supply if there is the risk of a thunderstorm. If there is a lightning rod nearby, ensure that the reference station is not installed higher than the rod.

Reconnection steps after a storm

Once the storm has passed:

  • Carefully reconnect all the wires at the charging station, ensuring that each wire is correctly connected at its designated position.
  • Restore the power supply to the reference station.
