Protect your Automower® robotic lawn mower during thunderstorms
Lightning and heavy rain can damage the electrical components in Automower® and its charging station. To reduce the risk of damage, disconnect all connections before a thunderstorm.
For Automower® Aspire™ R6V, 308V and 312V
- Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.
- Disconnect the power supply from the charging station and close the hatch.
For Automower® NERA models
Watch this video and follow the steps described below to disconnect the wires and power supply on Automower® NERA models.
- Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.
- Lift and tilt the top of the charging station.
- Open the hatch.
- Disconnect the power supply connector.
- Disconnect the loop wire connector.
- Close the hatch and tilt the top of the charging station back into position.
EPOS® reference station
To minimise the risk of damage to the reference station’s electrical components, disconnect the power supply if there is the risk of a thunderstorm. If there is a lightning rod nearby, ensure that the reference station is not installed higher than the rod.
Boundary wire installations
- Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.
- Disconnect the connectors from the pins.
- Mark the cables for easy reconnection. The charging station’s connections are labelled AR, AL and G1 (plus G2 and G3 for models supporting more than one guide wire).
- Disconnect all wires.
- Close the charging station cover to protect the connections from rain.
Reconnection steps after a storm
Once the storm has passed:
- Reconnect all the wires at the charging station, ensuring each wire is correctly connected at its designated position.
- Reconnect the power supply cable.
- Restore the power supply to the reference station.
