Initial setup and installation

3 options
A – System overview

For installation of virtual boundaries with EPOS technology, the product uses satellites and correction data to navigate. The correction data (RTK) can be received through the Husqvarna Cloud or a stationary reference station. The reference station is an optional accessory that you can use if you either cannot connect to the Husqvarna Cloud or want to ensure an installation with the highest level of accuracy.

To complete the map installation, you need a work area and a charging station:

  • The work area is where the mower operates and cuts grass automatically, defined by virtual boundaries.
  • The charging station can be inside or near the work area, connected by a transport path. The mower automatically follows along this path without mowing.

Stay-out zones can be created to prevent operation in certain areas, defined by virtual boundaries. A maintenance point can also be set where the mower is parked when not in use.

C – Installation

To ensure the most interference-free operation possible, both the reference station and the robotic lawn mower require the maximum possible unimpeded view of the sky.

  1. Install the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app to your mobile device: Download the app from App Store or Google play.
  2. Install the charging station.
  3. Pair the robotic lawn mower with the app.
  4. Pair the robotic lawn mower to the charging station: It will specify the docking point in front of the charging station.
  5. Specify the work area: Operate the product clockwise with appDrive around the work area and adding waypoints on the map in the app.
  6. Specify the stay-out zones: Operate the product counterclockwise with appDrive around the stay out zone and adding waypoints on the map in the app.
  7. Specify the transport path: Start in the work area and operate the product with appDrive, adding waypoints on the map in the app. When saving the transport path it is connected to the docking point.
  8. Specify the maintenance point and make a path to the charging station: Start at the maintenance point and operate the product with appDrive to add waypoints on the map in the app. The path to the charging station is connected to the docking point and completes the maintenance point.
  9. Use the app to adjust the schedule and the settings for the robotic lawn mower.

For more information, read the operator's manual for the robotic lawn mower.

Systematic mowing patterns

Selectable systematic mowing patterns are available to achieve your preferred aesthetic, including: Parallel, Checkerboard, Diamond, Triangle, and Rotation designs. These patterns can easily be set and customised in the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app, offering flexibility and convenience in tailoring the look of your turf.

For complex areas with many obstacles or narrow passages, it is recommended to use a mix of mowing angles, such as Triangle or Rotation patterns.

Scheduling

It is recommended to set a schedule for when the mower should operate and when it should not in the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app.

Out of the box, the mower will operate on a 24/7 schedule. When mowing in a systematic pattern, each designated work area will be completed one by one. Areas are mowed once daily, depending on the set schedule. If a work area is not finished on the first day, the mower will resume from where it left off and complete it the following day.

Note: It’s recommended to maintain flexibility with the mowing schedule, and only restrict the mower’s operation when absolutely necessary.
