How to use the Automower® Scheduler Tool for EPOS™ wire free installations
The Automower® Scheduler Tool helps you create a customised mowing schedule for EPOS™ wire free installations. Based on your defined work areas, mowing patterns and your mower’s capacity (including mowing and charging times), the tool suggests an optimised weekly schedule to keep your lawn well-maintained.
Compatible Automower® models
The Scheduler Tool works with Automower® models equipped with Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity and EPOS™ Technology.
Requirements to use the Scheduler Tool
- Automower® Connect app: The Scheduler Tool is accessible via the Automower® Connect app.
- Cloud connection: The lawn mower must be connected to the Husqvarna Cloud via Wi-Fi or cellular.
- EPOS™ wire free installation: This article applies only to EPOS™ installations. For physical boundary wire installations, refer to this guide: Using the Automower® Scheduler Tool for boundary wire installations.
- Complete EPOS™ installation: Your EPOS™ installation should include the elements you want to use, such as work areas, stay-out zones and transport paths. If you make changes to the map (e.g. adding new work areas), you need to re-run the Scheduler Tool to update your schedule.
How to set up your mowing schedule
- Open the Automower® Connect app.
- Select your lawn mower.
- Scroll down and click Get started to select the Scheduler Tool.
- Ensure the displayed work areas are the ones you want to include. Only enabled areas will be shown.
- Click Next to generate the proposed schedule.
- Select Use this schedule to confirm it.
Additional information
- Manual changes: By default, all work areas are scheduled to run 24/7. You can manually adjust mowing times after applying the schedule.
- Map changes: If you modify your EPOS™ installation (e.g. add or resize work areas), re-run the Scheduler Tool to recalculate your schedule.
- Weather conditions: The Scheduler Tool does not adapt to weather or seasonal changes. For tips, refer to the Mowing Tips section within the tool.
- Mowing patterns and area complexity:
- The tool takes into account irregular and systematic mowing sessions, but does not consider obstacles such as trees or flowerbeds when generating schedules.
- When using systematic mowing patterns in long, narrow areas, it’s best to set the mowing direction along the longer side. This minimises turns and reduces total mowing time.
- You might notice that systematic mowing tasks for different work areas sometimes appear overlapping or extended in the app. This is by design. See below for more details on how the Scheduler Tool calculates the schedule behind the scenes.
Behind the scenes: How your mowing schedule is calculated
Selectable mowing patterns
- The Scheduler Tool combines both irregular and systematic mowing sessions.
- Irregular areas are prioritised and scheduled first; systematic areas are scheduled after irregular ones have been planned.
- The start order of irregular areas rotates throughout the week to ensure even coverage.
- Systematic areas are selected based on which one has gone the longest without being mowed.
When does the lawn mower work?
- Most mowing is scheduled around noon when the grass is dry and garden wildlife is less active.
- Mowing time is spread before and after noon to balance workload.
- For areas with a systematic mowing pattern, mowing may extend until midnight to account for delays (e.g. satellite issues). The mower stops once tasks are complete.
Mowing time calculation
Mowing duration depends on:
- Your lawn mower model
- Area size
- Layout complexity
Times are rounded up to the nearest whole or half hour (minimum 1 hour). For example, 1 hour and 10 minutes is rounded up to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Helpful tips
- Systematic mowing can increase efficiency by 50%, especially in large or open areas.
- If your lawn needs more mowing, adjust time per area within the Scheduler Tool.
