What to do when Automower® shows an error
How to identify and clear error messages
How to identify and clear error messages
When an error occurs, your mower stops and its status changes to Error. To get it running again, clear the error and restart the mower.
Errors you can resolve remotely
Some errors can be cleared directly from the Automower® Connect app. If you see “Reset Error”, tap it and restart the mower from the app.
Errors that need manual action
For safety reasons, some errors cannot be cleared remotely, for example:
- Someone pressed the STOP button on the mower.
- The mower tilted or collided with an obstacle.
Before restarting: Make sure the cause of the error is removed (e.g. remove obstacles, place mower upright).

Automower® not starting
Automower® not starting
If your Automower® won’t start, it’s often not an error. Common causes include:
- A Stop/Pause command is active.
- A Smart Routine is overriding the schedule.
- ECO mode is active - the loop signal is turned off while the mower is parked, which can prevent manual starts if not handled correctly.
- On EPOS® models: the mower is searching for satellite signal (normal behaviour).
- The mower shows “On the way” or “Going to charging station” - this means the mower is travelling to the work area or following a transport path (EPOS®). It does not mow during this phase. This is expected behaviour.
After winter storage: If your Automower® won’t start after winter, make sure the battery is fully charged before starting. Place the mower on the charging station and wait until the battery is complete before attempting to start.

Display is blank or frozen
Display is blank or frozen
If the display is black, unresponsive or not showing any text, try the following:
- Restart the mower using the ON/OFF button (see instructions above).
- Make sure that the battery is charged. Place the mower on the charging station and wait until the battery is fully charged before trying again.
- If the display shows “Firmware update” or appears frozen during an update, wait for the update to complete - the mower temporarily disconnects during installation and will reconnect automatically.
- If the mower remained outdoors during the winter, bring it indoors and charge it fully before attempting to start.
When to contact a dealer:
- The display remains blank or frozen after trying the steps above.
- The mower makes sounds but the display stays blank.
- You suspect water damage or a faulty ON/OFF switch.
Contact a Husqvarna dealer for further assistance.
