Troubleshooting pairing issues with the Automower® Connect app during EPOS® setup

If you have issues with the pairing of the robotic lawn mower and the Automower® Connect app, here’s what to consider and how to solve it.

Pairing mode duration

  • A new lawn mower out of the box will be in pairing mode automatically. You don’t need to manually activate pairing on the lawn mower.
  • After initial setup, if the lawn mower disconnects or you unpair it from the app, activate pairing mode manually on the lawn mower. The lawn mower stays in pairing mode for 3 minutes.

How to activate pairing manually

Automower® Aspire R6, 308V and 312V

1. On the lawn mower:

  • Press the STOP button.
  • Using the numbered buttons on the lawn mower’s keypad, enter your PIN code to unlock the lawn mower. If you have not yet changed to a personal PIN, use factory PIN code 1234.
  • Push the Bluetooth® button. The button LED flashes blue, which means the lawn mower is in pairing mode.

2. On your mobile phone:

  • Enable Bluetooth®.
  • In the app, go to My mowers and press Add mower.
  • Follow the instructions in the Automower® Connect app.

Automower® NERA

1. On the lawn mower:

  • Press the jog wheel if the lawn mower is in standby mode (display is off).
  • Enter the PIN code if needed by turning the jog wheel and pressing it to select each number.
  • Turn the jog wheel to the Bluetooth® symbol and confirm by pressing the jogwheel.

2. On your mobile phone:

  • Enable Bluetooth®.
  • In the app, go to My mowers and press Add mower.
  • Follow the instructions in the Automower® Connect app.

Wi-Fi and Cloud pairing

  • During EPOS® setup, it is important to complete the Wi-Fi and Cloud pairing steps in the app.
  • Lawn mowers without cellular connectivity (using EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud): Wi-Fi and Cloud connection are required. Your lawn mower will not operate if these steps are skipped.

Installation of EPOS® Plug-in accessory (models 2025 and earlier)

I have a 2025 or earlier Automower® NERA with EPOS® Plug-in kit

Automower® NERA models from 2025 and earlier require a Plug-in accessory to work with EPOS®. When setting up these lawn mowers, it’s important to follow the correct installation steps in the right order. If you are having trouble pairing your lawn mower to the Automower® Connect app, it could be due to early mounting of the EPOS® Plug-in module on the lawn mower. To resolve this, try the following:

  1. Remove the robotic lawn mower from the charging station and turn it off by pressing on the jog wheel for three seconds.
  2. Disconnect the EPOS® Plug-in cable from the lawn mower and leave it disconnected.
  3. Turn on the lawn mower.
  4. Try pairing the lawn mower with the Automower® Connect app again.
  5. Turn off the lawn mower.
  6. Reconnect the EPOS® Plug-in cable.
  7. Place the lawn mower in the charging station and turn it on.
  8. A new firmware update will start, which can take up to an hour.
