What solution should I go for: 1, 2, or 4 panels?

The ideal number of solar panels depends on several factors: required uptime, daily runtime, season length, and geographic location. Our recommendations are based on achieving optimal uptime under typical conditions. For detailed information about which Automower® models each solar charger fits, please refer to the “Fits to”-section on the Solar Charger product page. 

Can I use a different solution to the one recommended?

Husqvarna Automower® model 560 EPOS® is only compatible with the Husqvarna Solar Charger System 2-230. Automower® models 580 EPOS® and 580L EPOS® are only compatible with the Solar Charger System 4-230. All other Automower® models are compatible with all Solar Charger Systems, so alternative solutions may be used.

How many robotic mowers can I plug into one Husqvarna Solar Charger System?

Each Husqvarna Solar Charger System is designed to support one robotic mower. This robotic mower solar charging approach ensures optimal charging performance, system reliability, and energy efficiency across varying runtime demands, and seasonal usage

Can I power one robotic mower and a reference station with the same Solar Charger System?

The Husqvarna Solar Charger Systems 2-230 and 4-230 are designed to power both a robotic mower and a reference station simultaneously without any additional components.

The Husqvarna Solar Charger Systems 1-18 and 2-18 can also support both devices, but require the optional wire assembly accessory for dual connection.

Can I power only a Husqvarna EPOS® reference station?

If you want to power your EPOS® reference station via solar charger, we highly recommend using the dedicated Husqvarna Solar Charger System for EPOS® Reference Station which is a standalone solution. 

What maintenance is required?

While some basic maintenance, such as cleaning solar panels and checking connections, can be done by the user—guided by the operator’s manual for each product—repairs should ideally be handled by an authorised Husqvarna dealer. In general, you should keep the solar panels clean to maintain efficient energy absorption. Store the battery fully charged indoors during the winter to protect it from cold temperatures and preserve battery health.
