Why can’t I see the map view in the Automower® Connect app?
The map view in the Automower® Connect app displays your mower’s location on Google Maps. This feature is available for mowers with Wi-Fi or mobile connectivity, but the tracking capabilities differ depending on your connection type.
Connection types and map view availability
- Bluetooth connection only: The map view with live tracking is available when the mower is within Bluetooth range, but not the GPS tracking.
- Wi-Fi connection: The map view is available, but only shows your mower’s location when it is within Wi-Fi coverage range (typically limited to your property).
- Mobile connection: The map view is available and can track your mower’s location even when it moves far outside your property, as long as there is mobile network coverage.
Understanding GeoFence alarm and GPS tracking
It’s important to understand that GeoFence alarm and GPS tracking are two separate systems:
- GeoFence alarm: A security system that triggers a local alarm on the mower if it moves outside a defined geographic radius. This alarm works regardless of connectivity status.
- GPS tracking: Allows you to follow your mower’s movements on the map in real-time. This requires the mower to be within Wi-Fi or mobile network coverage to send its position data to the app. The mower updates its position every 30 seconds. As a result, there may be slight differences between the mower’s actual location and its position on the map.
For more information about setting up and using these features, see How to enable GeoFence alarm and GPS tracking on your Automower® robotic lawn mower.
What you need for map view tracking
To track your mower on the map continuously, even if it’s stolen or moves far from your property, your mower requires mobile connectivity. If your mower doesn’t have built-in mobile capability, ask your dealer about installing an Automower® Connect kit. This article includes a list of compatible Automower® models.
