Snow Blower

When and how to replace auger pads and blades on a battery-powered snow blower

For your Husqvarna battery snow blower to clear snow effectively, the auger pads must be in good condition.

These durable rubber components scrape snow from the ground, help move it into the chute and assist in throwing it a proper distance.

Over time, auger pads wear down and need to be checked and replaced to maintain peak performance.

When to check auger pads

It’s important to inspect the auger pads regularly—especially before the snow season and during heavy use. Signs that your auger pads may need replacement include:

Reduced throwing distance

  • If snow dribbles out of the chute instead of being thrown far, the auger pads are often worn.

Uneven wear or cracking

  • Torn rubber, missing chunks or uneven edges can unbalance the auger, causing vibration and reduced clearing performance.

How to change auger pads on a battery-powered snow blower

Safety first

  • To prevent accidental start, remove the safety key, remove the batteries and wait for a minimum of 10 seconds.
  • Always wear protective gloves. The auger blades are sharp, and cuts can easily occur.

Step-by-step

  1. Tilt the product and put it on its side.
  2. Remove the two screws, washer and the two nuts on the auger pads.
  3. Remove the two auger pads.
  4. Install the new auger pads in the opposite sequence.

Note on Husqvarna 100 and 200 series

This replacement procedure applies to Husqvarna battery-powered snow blowers in both the 100 series and 200 series, ensuring consistent performance across these products.
