Snow blower losing power? Try these quick fixes
If your Husqvarna petrol snow blower is not blowing snow as it should, try these solutions:
Too much snow in the snow blower
Overloading your snow blower can cause it to lose power.
Slow down
- Move the snow blower forwards at a lower speed to reduce strain on the engine.
Clean small paths
- Decrease the clearing width to reduce the amount of snow entering the auger at once.
Ice or snow on a fuel tank cap
If the fuel tank cap is covered with ice or snow, it can block ventilation, causing poor engine performance.
- Clear off any ice or snow from the cap and the area around it.
- Make sure that the fuel cap is dry and breathing properly.
Blocked muffler
A clogged muffler can reduce engine power and make the snow blower less effective
- Turn off the engine and let it cool off completely.
- Carefully inspect the muffler and remove any blockages such as snow, ice and debris.
