Scraper bar replacement: Battery and petrol snow blowers

Is your Husqvarna snow blower leaving snow behind or not scraping clean?

It might be time to adjust or replace the scraper bar.

The scraper bar wears down over time as you use your snow blower and should be checked and adjusted regularly.

If it’s fully worn or damaged, it should be replaced to keep your product running efficiently.

Safety first

Before starting any work on your snow blower:

  • Turn off the engine.
  • For battery models: Remove the safety key and the batteries.
  • For petrol models: Remove the ON/OFF key and wait for all moving parts to stop.
  • Always wear protective gloves—the auger blades are sharp.

Tools you will need:

  • Protective gloves
  • Combi key
  • For petrol models: Wide container to catch the fuel

Step-by-step instructions

Empty the fuel tank (for safe tilting) — petrol snow blower

  • Put a container below the fuel tank.
  • Remove the screw.
  • Let the fuel drain into the container.
  • Install the screw.

Tilting the snow blower

  • For battery models: Carefully tilt the product on its side.
  • For petrol models: Carefully tilt the product backwards so the handles rest on the ground.

How to adjust a scraper bar on a petrol snow blower

  1. Loosen the five nuts underneath the unit.
  2. Slide the scraper bar forwards to its correct position.
  3. Tighten the five nuts securely.
  4. Measure the gap from the auger housing and the scraper bar on both sides.
  5. Adjust the scraper bar until the distance is equal on both sides.

How to replace a scraper bar on a snow blower

For battery snow blowers (100 and 200 series)

  1. Tilt the snow blower carefully to the side so it rests securely on the ground.
  2. Remove the five nuts underneath the unit.
  3. Take off the worn scraper bar with the five screws.
  4. Tighten everything firmly.

For petrol snow blowers

  1. Remove the five nuts underneath the unit.
  2. Take off the worn scraper bar and screws.
  3. Install the new scraper bar with the five screws.
  4. Tighten everything firmly.
