How to clean a nozzle on a high-pressure washer

Over time, the nozzle on your Husqvarna® high-pressure washer can get dirty or blocked by debris.

When this happens, the water supply may be cut off completely, and you might notice no water coming out of your washer.

To prevent this, it’s important to clean the nozzle regularly.

Cleaning a nozzle

Safety first

Always turn the power switch OFF (0) and unplug the power cord before carrying out any maintenance.

Step by step

  1. Locate the cleaning pin
    - Your Husqvarna® washer comes with a small cleaning pin, stored on the product.
  2. Remove the nozzle
    - Detach the nozzle from the gun/spray handle.
  3. Clean the nozzle
    - Insert the cleaning pin carefully into the nozzle opening to remove dirt or debris.
    - If needed, rinse the nozzle under running water for a thorough clean.
  4. Reattach the nozzle
    - Once clean, reinstall the nozzle securely on the spray handle.

Regular nozzle cleaning helps maintain consistent water pressure and protects your washer from unnecessary wear.

Pro tips for maintenance

  • Clean the nozzle whenever you notice reduced water flow or uneven spray.
  • Store the cleaning pin in its holder so it’s always available when needed.
  • Avoid using sharp objects (like nails or wires) to clean the nozzle, as these can cause damage.

Nozzle FAQ

One of the most common reasons is a blocked nozzle. Dirt, sand or debris can clog the opening and stop water from flowing. Cleaning the nozzle usually solves the problem.

We recommend cleaning the nozzle whenever you notice reduced pressure or uneven spray. For frequent users, a quick check after every few uses is ideal.

Use the cleaning pin supplied with your Husqvarna® high-pressure washer. Do not use nails, wires or other sharp objects, as they may damage the nozzle.

Yes. A clogged nozzle forces the pump to work harder, which can cause strain and reduce the lifespan of your washer. Regular cleaning prevents this.

If the nozzle is cracked, worn down or still clogged after cleaning, it should be replaced with a genuine Husqvarna® nozzle for best performance.
