How to restart or reset your Automower® robotic lawn mower

Learn how to restart or reset Automower®, including how to manually clear an error when the app says manual action is required.

Restart or reset: understand the difference

Which option do you need?

  • Restart turns Automower® off and on again. No settings are deleted. Try this first.
  • Factory reset restores user settings such as schedules and map objects. The following settings are kept: security level, PIN code, loop signal, messages, date and time, language and country. A total reset, like on a smartphone, is not possible on Automower®.

If a restart does not solve the issue, try a factory reset. If neither works, contact a Husqvarna dealer.

How to restart Automower®

Automower® NERA (models with jog wheel)

  1. Turn the jog wheel until you see Power off, then press the jog wheel.
  2. To restart, press the jog wheel for 3 seconds.

How to manually clear an error

For safety reasons, some errors cannot be cleared remotely. For example, someone pressed the STOP button on Automower®, or Automower® tilted or collided with an obstacle.

Before restarting: Make sure the cause of the error is removed. For example, remove obstacles or place the robotic lawn mower upright.

Automower® NERA:

  1. Press the jog wheel to activate the display.
  2. Press the STOP button.
  3. Enter your PIN code.
  4. Navigate to the start symbol and press to select it.
  5. Choose an operating mode (e.g. Start according to schedule).

Automower® Aspire™ R6V, 308V and 312V:

  1. Press the STOP button.
  2. Enter your PIN code using the numbered buttons.
  3. Select an operation mode (Start mowing or Park).

Older models with keypad (e.g. Automower® 420):

  1. Press the STOP button to access the display.
  2. Enter your PIN code using the number buttons and press OK.
  3. Press the START button and close the hatch.

Some errors can be cleared directly from the Automower® Connect app. If you see “Reset Error” in the app, tap it and restart Automower® from the app.
