Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues on Automower® robotic lawn mowers

This guide applies only to Automower® models that support Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi helps your Automower® robotic lawn mower stay connected to the Husqvarna Cloud and Automower® Connect app. For Wi-Fi-only models, it’s essential for EPOS® wire free navigation (via the Husqvarna Cloud) and firmware updates.

If your mower shows as disconnected from Wi-Fi, here’s how to fix it.

What happens when Wi-Fi disconnects?

Wi-Fi-only models

  • Continues mowing but loses remote control and smart home functionality.
  • Maintains Bluetooth connectivity within 30 m (98.4 ft).
  • For EPOS® installations via Husqvarna Cloud:The mower stops and searches for a signal.
  • Models with AI vision technology use their built-in camera to continue navigation. Read more about AI vision technology on Automower® here.
  • Unable to download firmware updates.

Wi-Fi + mobile models

  • Switches to mobile network automatically.

Why is my mower disconnected?

Common reasons:

  • No Wi-Fi network added in the Automower® Connect app
  • Router power failure
  • Wi-Fi network disconnected from the internet
  • Weak signal or mower out of range

Troubleshooting a Wi-Fi connection

  1. Restart the mower
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Restart the Automower® Connect app. iOS | Android
  4. Ensure you have the latest version of the Automower® Connect app. App Store | Google Play
  5. Ensure the router and internet are working
  6. Verify that a Wi-Fi network has been added. In the Automower® Connect app, navigate to More > Settings > Automower® Connect > Wi-Fi. Connect the mower to a Wi-Fi network if there is no Wi-Fi added

Improve Wi-Fi signal

If the Wi-Fi signal is weak in parts of your lawn, consider strengthening it to maintain a stable connection. Here are some practical options:

  • Use Wi-Fi extenders or mesh systems: These devices boost coverage and help eliminate dead zones. For outdoor areas, choose extenders designed for outdoor use to withstand weather conditions.
  • Position your router strategically: Place it as close as possible to the lawn or near windows facing the work area.
  • Reduce interference: Avoid placing the router near thick walls, metal objects or other electronics that can block signals.

Check Wi-Fi signal strength in the Automower® Connect App

You can easily verify the signal strength where your mower is located:

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app and sign in.
  2. Navigate to More > Settings > Automower® Connect.
  3. Enter your PIN code when prompted.
  4. Check the signal strength under Wi-Fi.

If the signal is weak, consider adding an extender or adjusting your router placement for better coverage.

Add mobile connectivity to your mower

For compatible models, your Husqvarna dealer can install an Automower® Connect kit to add mobile connectivity. Check the supported models here.
