No loop signal on Automower®—causes and solutions
When the message No loop signal appears in the Automower® Connect app, it indicates signal communication issues between the mower and the boundary wire. For Aspire™ R4 and older Automower® models, the No loop signal error can also indicate guide wire issues.
The charging station LED will show a specific colour or behaviour depending on the cause. Use the LED status on your charging station to identify and solve the issue.
What colour is your charging station LED?
Charging station LED flashes blue—wire or connection issue
Charging station LED flashes blue—wire or connection issue
A flashing blue light indicates that the charging station cannot establish a complete loop signal. This is typically caused by a broken wire or a faulty connection.
- Faulty connection at the charging station: On the charging station, verify that the boundary wire is properly connected. Make sure the wire ends are fully inserted and that the contacts are clean and secure. Learn how to solve it: How to connect the boundary and guide wires to the Automower® charging station
- Broken or damaged wire: The wire may have been cut or damaged during gardening, by weather, or by animals. Troubleshoot and fix the issue following our step-by-step guide on How to find and repair a wire break in your Automower® installation.
- How to check with a multimeter: Disconnect the boundary wire from the charging station and measure the resistance (ohm) across the two wire ends. A healthy loop typically shows a low resistance value. As a guideline, expect approximately 0.8 ohm per 100 m of wire—for example, a 200 m installation should show approximately 1.6 ohm. A significantly higher value, such as several hundred ohm, indicates a break or damage in the wire.
- Wire checks normal but light still flashes blue: If the resistance is within the expected range and all connections are secure, the issue may be with the charging station circuit board. Contact a Husqvarna dealer for further inspection.
Charging station LED is solid blue—wire connected but faulty
Charging station LED is solid blue—wire connected but faulty
A solid blue light means the charging station detects the wire, but there may be a fault in the installation. Read more about solid blue light on the charging station.
No error message on the mower display, but charging station LED flashes blue
No error message on the mower display, but charging station LED flashes blue
In some cases, the charging station LED may flash blue while the mower does not show an error message. This can happen when the mower is away from the charging station (for example, mowing in the work area) and has not yet attempted to return. The mower will typically display the error when it tries to find the loop signal.
- Place the mower in the charging station to check if an error message appears.
- If the error appears, follow the steps under Charging station LED flashes blue above.
- If no error appears and the mower charges and operates normally, monitor the installation over the next few days. An intermittent flashing blue light can indicate a loose wire connection or a wire that is partially damaged.
Charging station LED is off—power or electrical supply issue
Charging station LED is off—power or electrical supply issue
If the charging station LED is completely off, the charging station is not receiving power.
- Check the power supply: Examine if the power supply unit, low-voltage cable or mains cable is damaged or not installed correctly to the power outlet or the charging station.
- Check for power failure: Verify if there is a power outage or if a residual-current device has been triggered.

Charging station LED is solid red—power supply unit or charging station board failure
Charging station LED is solid red—power supply unit or charging station board failure
A solid red light indicates a possible hardware failure in the power supply unit or the charging station circuit board.
- Try disconnecting the power supply from the charging station for 30 seconds, then reconnect it.
- If the red light remains, contact a Husqvarna dealer for further diagnosis and repair.
Charging station LED is solid green—signal detection issue
Charging station LED is solid green—signal detection issue
A solid green light means the charging station is working correctly and sending a loop signal, but the mower is unable to detect it. This can be caused by distance, installation layout or interference.
- Intermittent signal loss while mowing: If the mower finds the signal in the charging station but loses it while mowing, certain areas of the garden may be too far from the boundary wire or close to sources of interference. Observe where in the garden the mower tends to lose the signal and check if those areas are near metal objects, buried cables or at the edge of the signal range. In some cases, local damage to the boundary wire in a specific area can also cause intermittent signal loss.
- After service or component replacement: If the error started after the mower or charging station was serviced, a new loop signal may need to be generated. Place the mower in the charging station and create a new loop signal. You can do this in the app, and for older mowers with a keypad you can do it on the mower itself.
- Create a new loop signal in the app: Ensure that you are connected to the mower via Bluetooth. In the app, go to More > Settings > Security > New loop signal > Create new loop signal.
- Create a new loop signal on the mower: Navigate the menu to Security > Advanced > New loop signal.
- Mower too far from the boundary wire: Make sure all parts of the work area are within the signal range of the boundary wire. For Aspire™ R4, the maximum distance is 15 m (50 ft). For other Automower® models, the maximum distance is 35 m (115 ft). Redo the installation of the boundary wire if necessary.
- Maximum wire length exceeded: The total boundary wire length must not exceed 800 m (2625 ft). If the installation uses more wire than this, the signal strength may be too weak for the mower to detect. Reduce the wire length of the installation.
- Interference from metal objects: Metal objects such as fences, reinforcement steel or buried cables near the charging station and boundary wire can interfere with the signal. Move the charging station or boundary wire away from the source of interference.
- Charging station not installed correctly: The charging station may not be set up according to the installation instructions. Verify the installation and adjust it following the instructions for your product: Step guide for boundary wire installations | Step guide for wire free installations.
Charging station LED flashes green—ECO mode is active
Charging station LED flashes green—ECO mode is active
If ECO mode is active, the loop signal from the charging station is disabled when the mower is not scheduled to mow. If you start the mower manually in the work area, it may not detect the signal.
- To enable the loop signal, place the mower in the charging station and start it from there.
- To start the mower manually in the work area, press the STOP button to enable the loop signal before you remove it from the charging station.
- Read more about how ECO mode works.
Charging station LED flashes yellow—guide wire issue
Charging station LED flashes yellow—guide wire issue
A flashing yellow light indicates that the charging station detects an issue with the guide wire. This applies to models that require a guide wire, such as Aspire™ R4 and older Automower® models.

After a thunderstorm
After a thunderstorm
If your robotic lawn mower stopped working after a thunderstorm, electrical components inside the mower or charging station may be damaged by power surges. This damage is often not visible and can affect the loop signal even if the wire and connections appear intact.
- Check the charging station LED and follow the relevant section above.
- If the issue persists after checking the wire and connections, internal components in the mower or charging station may have been damaged. Contact a Husqvarna dealer for further assessment.
- For more information, refer to Protect your Automower® robotic lawn mower during thunderstorms.
If the No loop error persists after following the troubleshooting steps above, contact your local Husqvarna dealer for further assistance.
