How to connect a high-pressure washer to a water source

For your Husqvarna high-pressure washer to work efficiently, it must be properly connected to a water supply.

Depending on your needs, you can connect it to either the water mains or an open water source such as a lake, pond or water barrel.

Most users connect their high-pressure washer directly to a garden hose attached to the water mains.

Connecting a high-pressure washer to the water mains

  1. Install the garden hose adapter onto the water inlet of your high-pressure washer.
  2. Connect the garden hose to the water mains.
  3. Open the mains valve and check that water flows freely through the hose.
  4. Close the mains valve again.
  5. Attach the garden hose to the water inlet of the high-pressure washer.
  6. Plug the power cord into a suitable power source.
  7. Hold the spray gun handle firmly and connect the high-pressure hose into the quick connection on the gun handle.
  8. Reopen the mains valve to allow water to flow.
  9. Bleed the system (release trapped air) before starting the product.

TIP: Always use the recommended hose length, water pressure, and water temperature as specified in your the operator’s manual for your product.

Your high-pressure washer can also draw water from an open source such as a lake, pond or rainwater barrel. This is useful in areas without direct access to water mains.

  5. Plug the power cord into a power source.
  6. Switch the water ON (I) and let it run for about 2 minutes to prime the pump.
  7. Switch it OFF (0).
