Pulling/Rigging rope

A pulling or rigging rope is usually essential when using a hoist/winch in forestry applications. The rope is used to extend the winching path long enough to bring the operator out of the risk area, or in combination with a block/pulley to redirect the winching path.

Using the pulling rope correctly – and safely, requires the proper training and experience. Safety first – always!

A rope used in advanced felling situations should be of good quality and requisite strength. Always consider the working load limit (WLL) relative to the winch used and the decrease of strength that appears when tying knots to a rope.
