High-pressure washer stops suddenly while in use—causes and fixes
If your Husqvarna high-pressure washer turns off unexpectedly during operation, it’s usually caused by overheating or an electrical issue. Here are the most common reasons and how to fix them safely.
Thermal protector activated
- Built-in thermal protector of the high-pressure washer that shuts the product off when it gets too hot.
- This often happens if the air intake is blocked or if the washer is used for long periods without breaks.
Solution
- Check that the air intake is clean and free blockages.
- Allow the washer to cool down completely before restarting.
- Avoid using the washer in dusty or poorly ventilated conditions.
Circuit breaker or fuse tripped
- A sudden stop may also occur if the circuit breaker tips or a fuse blows.
Solution
- Check your electrical panel to see if the break has tripped.
- If it has, reset it and try using the high-pressure washer again.
- If the fuse is blown, replace it with one of the same ratings.
