Well built with many valuable features Once assembled this little unit is appears to be very sturdy and well built. Fill the tank with the proper fuel mixture and follow the starting instructions and you will discover how sturdy it actually is. It starts with little effort and once running is far more quiet than my old unit. When handled with one hand, as having to open a gate it is quite obvious how well balanced it is. I also like the feature that the string head stops at idle. Overall very well built machine. September 8, 2012
Good Trimmer Solid, reasonably priced piece of equipment. So far it has functioned well, a little tricky sometimes with the choke and throttle, but you get the hang of it. I have only had it about a month, but so far I am pleased. July 15, 2015
Confused about one star reviews I am confused with the one star ratings I have seen on here. I have owned this trimmer for 3 years. No trouble at all to start. I condition the gas in the winter and then completely burn it out. Starts perfectly in the spring. I also learned that using the Husqvarna line will eliminate the problems with line breakage. Their line is awesome. Take a look at a video on youtube.com if you are not sure how to load the line...it is very simple. I also own metal edger blade. It makes a clean cut. It is good for maintaining a crisp edge. I would buy one of these trimmers again. You cannot buy the model from Lowes if you plan to add the metal blade edger from Husqvarna. Lowes uses a different system for attachments that allows them to sell different brands to attach to the Husqvarna trimmer. If you want the Husqvarna brand attachments, you gotta go to a dealer and buy the trimmer. July 9, 2015
THROTTLE PROBLEMS I bought this yesterday at Lowes and was extremely excited about it. I purchased the premixed Husqvarna 2 cycle gas mix and started it up. I followed all of the instructions on starting it up. It cut off on me seven times in one cut. It didn't matter if I barely pulled on the throttle or maxed it out. It kept cutting off over and over again. When it did run, it ran like a champ, but the second that you let off of the power, the idle was bad and it would either cut off then or when I hit the throttle again. I know that they have obviously made good versions of this trimmer, but mine is a dud. I am truly disappointed and expected better. There are several recent reviews on Lowe's website stating the exact same issue. July 7, 2015
Don't buy one Purchased 128LD in Sept, 2012 and used it with no problem through the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Tried to use it in spring 2015 and it would start with no problem but when you tried to use it, it would cough and sputter and eventually die. Took it to my authorized Husky dealer and he said he could not fix it - rings and pistons are burnt out because of ethanol in gasoline. Husky web site says 10% ethanol is OK which is all that is available around my home. Contacted Husky customer support because I expect to be able to use a trimmer for more than 2 years. Especially one that originally cost over $200. They were no help - they offered no advice, did not offer to replace the trimmer (which I wasn't expecting) nor did they offer a discount on a new trimmer (which I was expecting). In summary, if you want to spend $200 on a trimmer that is not going to run in 2 years when using the most common type of gasoline, feel free to buy one of these. May 12, 2015
Best Line Type Trimmer Ever After only a few easy minutes of simple assembly, the trimmer started easily and performed better than expected to cut grass on a steep slope where a mower is not easy to manipulate. I am very pleased with this purchase and the extended 4 year warranty for the purchase of premixed Husqvarna fuel was a great deal. May 11, 2015
Missing power Bought this trimmer after going inexpensive for the last 10 years. I have gone through 3 ryobi trimmers in that time. Thought i would invest in a quality trimmer. I have to say, I am very disappointed. Motor is underpowered and boggs down easily. It seems like I put bad gas in it. However, I bought Pre-mixed quarts of Husqvarna gas to put in it. I wonder if LD stands for light duty? Unit is also without a mounting point for a shoulder strap. May 4, 2015
