Better value than 2 KIds I've owned
By Long Term Mower
About Me Do-It-Yourself
Comments about Husqvarna YT48XLS:
100 hours so far. Excellent Kohler engine, reliable and powerful. Frabricated ,heavy duty deck has lifetime guarantee. Decks were a weak point on both JDs I had. Mows clean path. Seat is reasonbly comfortable. Good turning radius. Maneuverability is just average. Heavy deck requires pretty big effort to make height adjustments. Reverse pedal design/placement makes backing up a little awkward.Unless you require things like power steering, or electric deck height adjustment, I feel this HUSQVARNA offers far better value than JD.

MY 2016 YT48XLS
from Glendora, NJ
Due to a tree falling and crushing my CC, I found myself in the market for a new tractor. I have 1 Acre but sloped back yard. The Cub could not make it by itself going straight up the hill. Either 1 tire spun or worse the drive belt would vibrate right off the pulley. So I used to mow side to side. I did research and noticed Husqvarna had models with automatic locking differential so I went with the YT48XLS. after half of summer and now in Fall I love it. Not only can this beast go straight up the hill alone, I can hook up a 1500lbs capacity yard/ATV cart filled with firewood and drag it straight up the hill without issue. (Cart hold about half a facecord) which is a good amount. The Fabriacted deck is real nice and has rollers to prevent scalping.Husqvarna seems to keep the same model #'s even though they make improvements from year to year. I too went looking at reviews and see that for instance they complained about scalping on the Fabricated deck due to 1 roller in the front. After looking at it at the dealer they explained that was an issue a few years ago. 2016 model now has 3 rollers. My suggestion is that if you are on the fence b/c you see a bad review that concerns, go to the deal and scope it out yourself. I have the kohler engine which I personally like. Another thing about Husqvarna in general is that I have a built in charging port but the tractor does not come with the charger, separate purchase. Really, Husqvarna? - Anyway I have now regrets and love it.

The seat wobbles to much for me and where the seat is mounted is to thin of metal to keep it from wobbling around. every thing else about mower is great.

Newbies Find The Right Equipment
By Buckeye and Georgiapeach
from New Jasper Twp, Ohio
History:We (my Georgiapeach and I) are newbies to riding mowers but we did our homework and talked with lots of people with varying backgrounds and the result was the purchase of the YT48XLS. We purchased a 2 acre plot of land that was formerly used for the growing of corn and beans. The land is made up of slow rolling hills and very rough terrain. The land has not been use for a while and grass seed had been sown I am sure to make the land more enticing. We purchased the land with the intension of fulfilling a life long dream of building (which has be gone) a home in the country. We had a budget for the tractor and a trailer of $3500.00 with the majority of budget going toward the tractor. With the rough terrain we wanted something that could withstand the early rough goings. We are very easy on equipment, understanding we are making an investment and wanting it to last we tend to 'baby' stuff. Even though we take good care of our equipment one still must purchase the level of equipment to do handle the job at hand.We have now mowed the land three times and we could not be more pleased with the quality of the tractor. It is easy to get on an off with it 'step through' technology. The adjustable seat is a plus for providing the ability to stretch ones legs out. Access to the engine compartment is easy and ease of accessing to the oil and gas filters will make it more pleasurable when having to change them. There is a real feel of rigidity and stability in the construction of the frame and its components. We feel that we made the right decision to go with a Husqvarna tractor.

About Me Professional
I bought this 2 years ago and I have only 100 hours on it, also a double mulching bagger which I believe has cost all the problems ( I also believe it's the wrong one). First thing to happen was, my front left wheel came off after using it 3 times. The bearing flange wore out. next was the bagger set-up. The bags would fill up then started to bend the metal frame in the back and tear up the bolts holding the bag frame. Ended up having that welded (twice) by the authorized dealer. Next just recently, I had to replace 3 mandrels, what a joke. Now the big issue, The bloody rear axle snapped and the right rear wheel came off. Now that is in the shop waiting for repair. Then I find out my warranty ran out 2 weeks prior to this happening and Now I find out the dealer I am using is no longer an Authorized Dealer. Contacted Husqavarna and they won't do a darn thing about it. They won't be responsible for their so-called dealers.

So far this mower has been excellent
from New Hampshire
I bought this mower 4 weeks ago to mow my 2.5 acre yard which has some step slopes on it. The automatic rear locking differential is a lifesaver and it still turns very well. I purchased a 12.5 CU yard trailer and mower has plenty of power to pull that loaded with soil & mulch right up the hills. It is comfortable to ride and the fabricated deck mows the grass extremely well. Overall this seems to be great for every job around house, it is clear it is well built with quality parts.

Boss of the fleet
I work at a gov't facility that just recently purchased a YT48XLS to replace a worn out Craftsman. I must say being of the same HP Kohler engines, the Husqvarna puts out more torque while moving faster and is far more durable. It'll pull our other dead tractors to and from the shop like nothing.

Fantastic Mower with a poor bagging capability
I have been using this mower for over a year now and the mower it self is doing really well. I mow a 1.5 acre lot and occasionally pull a trailer. I also use lawn tools like a pull behind plug aerator and similar pull behind tools. I have not had a single problem and continue to enjoy the durability and "smoothness" of the controls on this mower. That said, if you plan on bagging grass be warned that the bagging system is a VERY real frustration. There is a belt driven blower that is CONSTANTLY clogging and leads to a burned out belt and/or no grass being collected. Everyone I speak with directs me back to the local dealer who ALWAYS wants me to bring the mower in which leaves me without a mower for at least a week (usually more). I've replaced the pricy belt myself, but in the end I wind up having to simply mow REAL slow and unclog the shoot often. I read on-line there may be a fix for this, but my local dealer insists that I bring the mower in before they will check to see what the fix might be....VERY FRUSTRATING!.... Other than this it's a great mower though.

So tough I Have Named It The "Beast"
This is my third riding mower made by Husqvarna, In spring of 2014 i bought the YTH22V42, my second mower, it is a excellent riding mower, but like 90% of the riding mowers had problems climbing steep slopes, wet grass, mud, Hillsides, etc.I looked at 10 different riding mowers and went back to my local dealer in Lebanon Or, saw the owner Steve and told him what i was having problems with, He showed me a garden tractor size unit with all elec features including elec locking rear end, then he showed me a similar model with the locking rear end and all manual choke, starting etc, that he assured me would do the same job for $500.00 less, i followed his suggestions, and after 50 hours of use now on "THE BEAST" what he told me was 100% true! Everything is heavier duty, lifetime deck, Kawasaki motor is more fuel efficent than my Briggs, and it will climb hills and slopes like a mountain goat! So if you mow under any of the conditions i mentioned, including 3ft plus field grass, BUY THIS MODEL! You will never be sorry, This is my second new Husqvarna in 2014, and i will buy more in the future!!!!
