HUSQVARNA 550 XP® TrioBrake
I head up a facilities department and we were in need of some new saws. In the past we have had Stihl and Shindaiwa. Got tired of dealing with the Stihl dealers and Shindaiwa is not making saws any more. So we thought we would try Husqvarna. So we bought two 550xp. When we first got them the build quality looked good and felt nice. But then we started to cut with them. Cutting mainly hardwoods. They have great high end power, but loose power and begin to cut slowly larger diameter wood. We had much better luck with Stihl 260 and Shindaiwa 488. We were so disappointed that we tried to take the saws back. But both the dealer and Husqvarna would not work with us. Very disappointed.

Disappointing Performance So Far
I've owned my saw for about two weeks.
I saw 9"-14" Hickory and Oak logs and have cut about 50 so far. Unfortunately I can't seem to make it through my denser, thicker logs. The saw stalls out frequently when I'm attempting to cut my hardwoods. It's incredibly frustrating.
I've made sure the air filter is clean, fuel is < 2 week old 93 octane and husky oil mixed perfectly, chain is clean and properly tightened. I can only conclude she's just not powerful enough for the job I need her to do.
