IMPRESSIVE, VERY IMPRESSIVE!
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A DECENT MOWER FOR ABOUT A MONTH, IT CAME DOWN TO THE HUSQVANA AWD AND (BELIVE IT OR NOT)THE HONDA HRX217HYA. I COULD NOT DECIDE BETWEEN THE TWO, SO I BOUGHT BOTH OF THEM. I USED THE HUSQY FIRST, VERY IMPRESSED WITH STARTUP, AND AS SOON AS I PULLED THE LEVER ALL FOUR WHEELS JUST GRABBED VERY AGGRESSIVE AND RESPONSIVE, ONCE I GOT THE HANG OF IT, CUT THE FRONT AND BACK YARD , FORGOT ABOUT THE HONDA. THE NEXT WEEKEND I FIRED UP THE HONDA, SAME AS THE HUSQY, IT FIRED RIGHT UP ON THE FIRST PULL, THIS MOWER HAS THE BLADE BRAKE ON IT AND THROTTLE SPEED, SO I STARTED WITH THE HONDA, IT HAS A VERY NICE CUT ALSO BUT, IT DISCHARGED GRASS RIGHT ON MY FEET, AND THE BALES OR CONTROLS FOR BLADE AND SELF PROPELLED WAS JUST A LITTLE TO MUCH WHEN TURNING TO MAKE THE NEXT PASS, AND PLEASE DON'T BE IN A TIGHT AREA OR AROUND SHRUBBS OR BUSHES, IF YOU GET TO CLOSE THE LIMBS WILL HIT THE THROTTLE SPEED AND CUT DOWN ENGINE AND GROUND SPEED ON THE HANDLE. I DID NOT FINISH WITH THE HONDA, PULLED THE HUSQY BACK OUT AND FINISHED THE YARD,SO YOU KNOW WHICH ONE GOT RETURNED. I HOPE THEY OFFER ONE WITH BLADE BRAKE SOON I WILL BUY THAT ONE ALSO (HINT) GREAT MOWER!!!!

Best Mower Ever
This is my fourth lawn mower and first Husqvarna. I have owned 3 Honda mowers and by far this is the best mower ever. I love the all wheel drive. My last Honda self propelled mower was rear wheel drive and did not have much power. With this mower, you will have a brisk walk at full speed and it cuts through thick grass like butter. I definitely recommend this mower and normally do not rate products but did so because it is a quality mower.

Best Self Propelled Mower I've Owned
Just purchased the HU800AWD at Lowes today, brought it home, took about 5 minutes to assemble and started mowing. I have been searching for an AWD mower for years for my steep hills. Until today I've had to use FWD but it just wasn't enough and kept having to angle the front of the mower up while trying to not slip down the hill (RWD was worse#.This one does the trick and has enough power to pull itself and me accross or up the hill with ease. Perfect gearing, not too fast or slow, and gave me a nice even cut. Kudo's to the design engineer#s) on this one, someone finally got it right.

Was blown away by this mower. It goes up hills with ease that was giving rear wheel drive mowers a fit (was having to manually push them since they just spun).
Was concerned that the small wheels would not have traction but I was wrong as it has plowed thru any terrain I have thrown at it so far.
Also wandered how hard it would turn by being AWD however simply let off the drive handle and it turns very smoothly and does not tear up the grass this way.
Pulling the drive handle all the way back and you will be at a brisk walk keeping up with it.
The Honda engine is easy to start and quieter than other walk behind mowers I have had.
I am very pleased with this mower!

I chose the HUSQVARNA HU800AWD ($399.99=10% off at lowes + $50 rebate) over the Craftsman 190cc 22'' Model# 37092 ($379.99). I have .4 acres of land with a hilly side. So I needed at least a rear wheel drive mower. The Husqvarna has a honda engine and is AWD compared to the Craftsman. Since I got it for $399.99+tax it was well worth the price.
It started on the first pull after I set it up from the box. The mower is very powerful and I had to keep up with it at full speed.
On the hill it was a breeze to mow. The mower simply goes where ever you want. Be prepared to run after it.

Husqvarna AWD Mower
After using a Craftsman FWD for the past 13+ years here in the Pacific Northwest it was time to shop for a new grass cutting machine. The old machine's deck was worn out and starting to rust through along the upper back section. So, I wanted something that was strong and would aide in cutting a large (1/2 ac +) uneven lot. Initially wanted the Toro 30", twin blade Timemaster, but it was a special order and twice the cost of the Husqvarna. Also the reviews were not the best and the thing is big and heavy, like 300 lbs. On goes the search when I came across the All Wheel Drive Husqvarna with the Honda 190cc motor offered exclusively at Lowes. A check of the inventory at the local store yielded no results for western Washington. But wait there's more. On Friday 3/15 we stopped in the Mt. Vernon Lowe's for some other items which my local HD doesn't carry and they had only one on display. Had them kindly take the mower down and sell it to me.
Well I get the thing home, put some oil in it and it cranks up on the first pull. I ran the mower around the front yard with the bag and without to see how well the crown blade works for mulching. Quick, easy and pleasant. Went over the tree roots simply and was a breeze on the hillside. Well it starting to rain and the wife was done watching me anyway, but I decide the real test is in the back yard. The grass hasn't been cut since Oct. and is 8" to 10" high and of course still wet. It struggled a bit with the wet grass clumping in the opening of the side discharge but stopping every 4 to 5 feet for 5 or 6 sec gave it time to spit out the wet mat of grass. I should also say I had the wheels set in the middle at 5's all around, but I just wanted to see how well it handled it. The AWD is excellent and the grip was good for all my varied terrain. It did high center once or twice but rocking it forward or back pulled it right on through. The lower back side of the yard I set the wheels up to 8 and I could hardly keep up with the thing. No problem with the longer wet grass now. Normally I use at least two+ tank full of gas but I just kept going on the same tank full. There is no struggling around the yard with this machine like the old dead weight I was use to towing around. You will need to adjust the AWD drive cable a bit for your personal liking depending on how you like it to engage/where. The washout is a nice feature but with the side discharge open it only cleans the one side real well. You may also want to monitor the rear drive shaft for stuff wrapped up on it. This should cut our mowing times way down and this is truly a WALK BEHIND mower.
Also Lowe's was offering as $50 rebate on this item.
I'll keep you updated in the next few months.

Best walk behind I have ever owned. Have sandy soil so I particularly like the covered refuse bag which directs the air flow down - keeps me from getting covered in dust. Always starts within first two pulls. Quieter than most mowers I have owned. Angle and height of handle provide the most comfortable position I have ever experienced. With me being 66 years old, the AWD makes this a truly WALK behind. Go and buy one - worth every penny - you will love it!
