Great mower I live on a hill so the locking differential is outstanding. Mowing is even and tractor is very maneuverable. So far no problems. December 3, 2013
First Lawn Tractor I purchased this as my first lawn tractor and have been very pleased. Overall it seems to run great and performs very well on my 1 acre lot. I have only two negative points: 1.) There is no oil drain tube included and the owner's manual does not indicate what size to buy. You have to guess or measure before heading to the hardware store. 2.) The plastic frame around the gas tank window broke off on day 1. It's purely an aesthetic piece, but still upsetting to have something break on a brand new tractor. That said, I'm still very happy with the purchase and look forward to using this tractor for many years. December 3, 2013
Climbing machine! I recently purchased the YT46LS after extensive research to find the best solution for my lawn size, terrain, and longevity. It is my first lawn tractor. I also purchased the 3-bag system. I have some steep hills connecting relatively large flat sections on about .75 acres. I finally had the opportunity to try the mower yesterday after many days of relentless fog and wet grass. I mowed in the afternoon. The grass was still somewhat damp. I edged my yard first with the string trimmer, and then went immediately to the tractor. I wanted to see how much I could mow with the tractor before needing to get into the tight spots with the push mower. The YT46LS is very maneuverable. It's easy to backup while mowing which makes getting into tight areas simple. It only took a few minutes to get the feel for operating the machine smoothly. It has plenty of power. I never felt the tractor bog down or hesitate in the slightest. One of my biggest concerns when I began looking at lawn tractors was the steep hills in my backyard—two in particular. For perspective, I have envisioned putting stairs where this one is located to transition between the lawn sections. That one is steep enough that I couldn’t push my walk-behind up, or I’d slip and fall, without using the drive assist. I figured at a minimum, I’d be able to drive the tractor down. I did my first lap around the backyard with the tractor, then decided to go for it and headed for the steepest section. I slowed down at the base, then powered up. I didn’t even feel the differential lock—there was absolutely no slip and the transition was smooth. The YT46LS climbed that hill like it wasn’t there. I was blown away. I went around again, just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, and the same thing again. This thing is a climbing machine! Interestingly, I thought I’d try the opposite and go down the steep slope using the brakes to slow the tractor. It started to lock up and slide down. It also bags amazingly. I looked at the flow meter on the lift tube about halfway through and it was spinning fast, so I figured it was still filling. I finally stopped and popped the back. It was packed, but not spilling or spitting in the slightest. When I was done, I disconnected the bagging tubes and attached the flush hose. I ran the flush for a few minutes and the underside of the cutting deck was spotless. I am very impressed with this machine, and now I actually look forward to mowing my lawn. A couple of points worth mentioning: The fuel gauge is just a tank window below the front of the driver seat. I can’t tell anything from it. It always looks the same, so I guess I’ll stick to the old fashioned method. In my opinion, it is not a big enough issue to dock points. The tractor is also prone to plowing or understeer, but it is entirely avoidable if the operator pays attention. Slow down and note the direction of slope. Overall, this is a fantastic machine. I couldn’t be happier after my first mow. Time will tell as I continue to get better at running it and more efficient with cutting my lawn, but I certainly don’t see any issues in the future. Great mower but could be better Picked this mower due to the reinforced deck and v-twin Kawasaki engine. Great power and cutting. As mentioned in previous reviews gas gauge is hard to see. Deck stops are really bad, took the paint off the deck on the first mow. Made bumpers for them and looking at repainting the deck. Overall mower is nice. Wished the battery maintenance charger was included. October 23, 2013
Great at this point Plenty of power, good cutting performance. Locking differential a big plus. Gas gauge is a joke - not readable, especially from the seat. A locking hood would be an improvement. However, access to oil filler/filter and other engine components is very good. October 20, 2013
Problems This product does have some problems. The deck stops scratch the paint off the deck. When turning front end pushes. The eccelerator knob gets caught on bushes and pushes to low. The front wheels had no greese in them. The seat will not stay in place, keeps sliding forward when you hit a bump. For the money I paid I was expecting much more. October 9, 2013
Just purchased my mower 1 month ago. So far, this mower has been performing well. The only negative , I have, is the (2) "deck stop brackets" that prevent the deck from rising too high, to prevent the belt from dis-engaging. These stop brackets could have been designed better. the metal on metal, had already put nicks in the deck. I did alot of research on the web for this condition, and was rather dis-heartened when I saw another customer post the question directly to Husqvarna and they not responding. I was able to fashion a sort of rubber bumper onto the metal brackets and that alleviates the issue. I hope the mower will perform for years to come. BTW,I also would have wished that the mower had a "tighter" turning radius that it does. All in all , I am happy with it so far. September 18, 2013
YT46LS Excellent Mower, just be careful turning and gasing at the same time...the front wheels will dig up the grass. I'm liking the 12V outlet, now I can plug my music player into the jack and not have to worry that my battery will die while listening to my music! September 16, 2013
