Big Bad And Beautiful Did not think I would like as much as I do but I really do. Some other people have told me that they really like their Husqvarna Saw's and I blew their coments off, because I'm a Stihl man. One day I needed a saw and it was on a day that limited stores was open and I new it would be hard for me to find a Stihl. But Lowes was open and man they sold Husqvarna. I'm glad that was the day I needed to buy another saw, because I'm Very Happy with my saw. Thanks Husqvarna February 24, 2011
455 Rancher This saw is fantastic, plenty of power, what a difference compared to the saws I am used to. Worth every penny these saws are night and day over their competitors and gets the job finished in a timely manner. East to start, feels good to hold, and enough power to cut even the unimagineable. A believer and customer for life, no more junk saws for me. February 24, 2011
Good value for the money Have had no problems with this saw except for the gas cap having a bad seal, had 2 screws fall out retaining the pull start. Saw can be somewhat hard to start when it is cold outside. Other than that, appears to be a good saw. Saw cuts straight and goes through oak like butter with a good sharp chain. Did initially have trouble finding a dealer to get extra chains from. February 24, 2011
Great saw for the price We burn about 45 cords of firewood per year to heat 4 buildings with a total of 22,000 square feet. This is the main saw I use to cut all the firewood, and it does a fine job. Other brands are either not as durable or quite a bit more expensive. February 24, 2011
What a creature!!!!!!!! I have use many different types of chainsaws in my time and only the 455 Rancher was able to do what I wanted it to do. February 24, 2011
455 A Great Chainsaw My 455 is a very impressive saw. With the new primer bulb it starts very easy, within the first couple of pulls, even in the dead of winter. The power of the saw is incredible. It pulls into the log and I don't need to aplly force at all, the saw does all the work. Of the saws I own the 455 is my favorite. February 24, 2011
Hard to Start This chainsaw runs very well after I finally get it started. February 24, 2011
More cutting for the buck I have downed and bucked 50+ trees ranging from 3"-24" fir, oak, maple, walnut, etc. In temps from 10 deg to 100 deg. and never had an issue. It starts easy, does take it a couple minutes to really warm up after sitting for a few days but once it is warm it will keep going. It can handle the big jobs like a 40" seasoned oak not as well as a bigger pro series will but it can do it unlike other saws I have tried. The oil tank tops off really quick once it is at the 3/4 mark and can be a little messy. It might not quite meet loggers standards, but, if you do a lot of cutting during the year with some bigger jobs around the house/ farm/ ranch, take a good look at this saw it is very worth it and save a few bucks. and to be completely honest.A husky was the first saw I ever used ( a Rancher) ~20yrs ago and since then I have used several different saws and when time came to buy a saw for use on the property I went back to the best I have used.
