450 "Rancher" The box and saw both say 450 Rancher, but you will not find it anywhere on the Husqvarna site listed as a Rancher. Followed the directions in the owners manual on fuel type, mixture and starting instructions and still had a hard time starting the saw. Once I got it started it would not stay running. For a while it would idle, but as soon as I tried to cut it would shut off. Maybe it was just a 1 in a 1000 issue so I traded it one for one...let's see how the new one goes. November 10, 2012
You Get What You Pay For I'm a wood turner and need something durable and dependable for both long runs or just a quick cut. This does both and more. Start up is a breeze and maintaining the could not be easier. A great saw at. Great price. November 8, 2012
I really like this saw I've had this saw for two years now and really like it. No, I love it. Easiest starting 2 stroke motor I've ever encountered. Runs great and has enough grunt to easily deal with 99 percent of what I cut. I like it much, much better than my old ms 290. I initially fell into the pitfalls of the outboard clutch vs the inboard on my old Stihls. Read the owners manual , do what it says, and you shouldn't have those problems or any others. The chain tensioner works great and the single bar nut works just fine. Great anti-vibe. Sips fuel , cut up 5 small pickup loads of red oak with only two tanks of fuel. Seems like I never need to clean the air filter. I prefer the standard kerf powermatch bar with a chisel chain to the narrow kerf bc combo that it comes with. October 28, 2012
Cuts through trees like butter. So far this product has exceeded my expectation. I had a tree fall and distroy my fense. This product help make my cutting up this tree like butter. Awsome power. October 14, 2012

Excellent Saw Best saw I've ever owned. Would not buy anything else but Husqvarna. September 17, 2012
New Husky 450 Purchased this chainsaw as I was wanting a lighter weight unit than my other Husky's. This one fit that bill nicely. It does have good power for a 50cc saw. It is good for medium/large size jobs. It does good on both gas and bar oil. I was surprised that even though there is no adjustment for the bar oil, it did not use it like some saws I have owned with a factory set chain oiler. The Saw does start with one or two pulls everytime. The compression release is a must and this saw has it. Nice to be able to view the gas with the outside window too. Now for some of you out there that have run into the trouble of getting the outside case back on after taking it off to clean the saw or change a bar or chain. It really does not matter if you take the side case off with the chain break on or off, easier if it is off. But for some reason, many times the break will come on during disassembly making it seem impossible to get back on. It is simple to get back on if you do it right. Simply take the bar and the chain off and press the side firmly back on and reset the break to the off position, take the side back off and then reinstall the bar and chain, the side will go right on with no trouble. This resets the break to the off position so that the break spring inside will fit around the clutch, walla. You can't do it with the bar and chain on it, period. Seems like the good people at Husquvarna would let you in on that little secret you would think, but I did it for you. Happy cutting. September 12, 2012
parts, support, hard to come by, bar to flexible I recently purchased my 450 with 20" bar from Lowes and used it to cut up a large pine tree 3' diameter which had been sectioned and pulled from a lake 2 months prior. The wood was still quite wet so the cutting was challenging. The saws power seemed good but the flexibility of the bar allows the chain to bind and makes cutting difficult. I purchased the Husky instead of a Stihl because I wanted easy access to parts if I needed them on a weekend. I was surprised to find that the replacement chains that I was sold at the time do not fit this saw, and I have since discovered that Lowes does not carry replacement chains or bars for this saw in a 20" link. The Lowe's staff was ill informed, and unable to help with the problem. The Husqvarna website simply directs you back to the dealer where no help is forthcoming. I'm still attempting to find replacement chains to no avail. If a stiffer bar is available for the saw, the performance would be greatly improved. The saw itself starts easily, is lightweight, and easy to use, if the bar was a bit stiffer I would rate it as excellent. Parts availability and lack of support are very disappointing.
