somewhat disappointing
Received this as a Christmas gift. I wish I tried to start it immediately, but waited 3 months. Rope pull is terrible. Feels like the cog inside is a square instead of a circle. Following instructions, it starts fine, but tough to pull. Half way through my first tree, the bar freezes. Motor runs, but chain won't go around. My old Craftsman ran for 12 years without a hitch. I expected better from Husqvarna.

Wanted to love this product
Really wanted to love this product, read many good things about Husqvarna chainsaws and they one of the best. Unfortunately I returned it.
Negatives I found
1. Very difficult to start, people weren't kidding. I can't believe this is considered normal. I had a homelite chainsaw for 10 years and this is really hard to start.
2. Chain keep getting stuck just after a few hours of cutting. Chain would basically jam. I had to mess around with the chain adjusting to get it started. I was already stripping the saw down to get it going, I can't imagine after 5 years.
3. This is a surprise, if you remove the chain cover without taking the brake off, it is almost impossible to get it back on. The manual says take it to a dealer to get the cover back on, really ? This is a very bad design.
i did manage to get the cover on by jamming the cover into where the brake would unlock. Don't unscrew the inside cover as there is a high tension spring.
For a somewhat inexpensive saw, it is probably ok, but I can't see it lasting. Doesn't seem well made or constructed. I think there are design flaws all over.
I did love having and using a husqvarna for the first time, but I think will be going back to homelite. Maybe in the future I will try them again.
I would not recommend buying at least this model.

3 weeks and haven't used it yet
Bought this saw 3 weeks ago and hasn't been started yet. Followed the directions, used some ether both in the carb and in the piston, still nothing, so I called customer support, unfortunately for me it was a Sunday. What kind of global organization can't afford customer support on the weekend? Looks good, feels great, but won't kick on for more than a second. Very disappointed, figured it was a good brand, guess I was wrong. Next weekend it's going back to Lowes and Ill take my money to a better company. To Husqvarna: You will never see another penny from myself or my sons.

Leaks bar oil badly
I love every aspect of my 440e except it leaks bar oil terribly. Every time I remove the scabbard, several table spoons of oil leak out. Had it serviced twice and was told this is normal. Was told to drain bar oil after each use. Can this be right?

Nice chainsaw
First one I bought which was a floor model from Lowes would not start at all. Lowes exchanged it for a new one. The new one worked great! We had a tree down in my driveway and I cleaned it up in no time. Looking forward to the next time I need to use it

Sandy cleanup
Luckily Amazon had this in stock. Did some research about other saws, and the reviews were always better for Husqvarna. Needed to do a good deal of yard cleanup after the hurricane including a bunch of downed trees. The weight and power was perfect for what I wanted. Easily cut through 12-14 inch limbs and trunks. Vibration control is amazing. 4 straight hours of use, and no arm or hand fatigue. Simple chain maintenance and replacement. Easy starts following instructions. Light weight enough that I made a bunch of coasters for friends out of a very interesting colored limb.

Solid
I love chainsaws. This is one that seems to be strong and hopefully will last me a while. The chain dulls quickly. I've had to work on it a good bit, but still not worth not having it. There's not a chainsaw out there that I'd like to have instead of this one.
