HUSQVARNA 460 Rancher 4.7 5 202 202
Excellent Saw for around the Farm Been a Stihl Guy in the past. Decided to just try something different. Excellent choice in the 460 Rancher. Starts consistently on the 2nd pull and to date have had NO issues what so ever with it. I am more than pleased with my choice. Local Dealer is great as well!! July 9, 2014
awesome saw Bought this for cutting firewood. Great power for it not being a professional saw. Big enough to cut trees over 30 inches. Most of which was tamarack and red fir. July 6, 2014
no customer support Bought a 372XP that must be so bad Husqvarna won't even let one do a review of that. It's brand new, will not start and the 4 year warranty means nothing because no one locally will do warranty repairs. A lousy deal. The only "customer support" is writing a lousy review. July 6, 2014
Cheap Chain Brake Handle Rancher 460 Beware the cheap easy destroyed chain brake handle; Throw a chain and you will be replacing the chain and the handle, neither of which is covered by warranty. Other than that little detail so far so good; easiest starting chainsaw I have ever ran, whipped through a 20 inch oak branch like it was pine.... July 5, 2014
The product is easy to use Prefect chainsaw for any job. I wish I had purchase this chainsaw in the first place. You will not be disappointed. June 9, 2014
Priced well but underpowered. I purchased this saw for regular firewood cutting. Assembly was a breeze, I filled the fuel and oil tanks and it started on the second pull. Compression release is great and you need less pumps on the primer then the manual states. Fit and finish of the parts is nice and the controls are well laid out. As far as performance goes this saw is under powered as far as I am concerned. Cutting 20" logs is achievable but you cant really dig in with the cleat. I used a 372XP and wish I would have spent the extra $ and got the pro saw. May 29, 2014
Husqvarna 460 Rancher I bought my 460 about 2 years ago. Like some others it leaked oil badly. Took it back to the local Husqvarna dealer here in Hobart, TAS and they kept it for a while and said it was fixed. Still leaked oil. Took it back again and they said there had been a recall on oil hose, said they would replace. Still leaked oil!! In frustration took it to my neighbour (retired mechanic - can fix any motor) stripped it down (as much as possible - sealed motor compartment) and placed some sealer around the mouth of the oil hose. It has hardly leaked a drop since. It was plain to see that the saw had not been touched by the service dealer. To sum up the 460 is a joy to use - powerful, light and starts first time. May 29, 2014
wrong decision It leaked oil from the day I put oil in the reservoir. Loew's sent it out under warranty and it came back just like it was. Plus they wanted to charge me $48 for handling. It took a call to Husky to get that straightened out. The second time I found my own Husky service center and the guy didn't want to work on it. After several calls to the service center we found a shop within reasonable distance to work on it. I bought this in September, it is now May and I have nothing to show for $500. I definitely did something wrong, either Husky or Lowes. I did find out that it may not even be built by Husqvarna. May 16, 2014
