Homeowner 450 - avoid Stirling shop convinced me a 450 would be perfect for someone who owns 27 acres. Since I never had owned or operated a chainsaw before, I didn't realize I was being taken. The 450 is good for the weekend warrior who cuts wood once a month. But anyone who owns a woodstove, like myself, you'll be disappointed. What are the issues? I can live with the lack of power since it is smaller engine. Part durability is an issue with me. The pulley return spring snapped with just over a year's use. Ordered the $7 part from a Stirling shop and another from a Trenton shop to be certain the part would be ordered. A month later, neither shop could get the part. Solution: drove to Havelock to another shop, who had the part in stock. Other issues, must re-tighten the chain every few minutes under heavy load. Warped one bar from overheating because of the chaining running loose. Don't understand why, but the chains dull so quickly compared to the chains on the 570 I use as well. Now, that's a saw. See my review of it. Don't buy this saw. Pay more and upscale to a more durable saw. February 25, 2011
Best saw I've ever owned! I am really enjoying my 450-E series Husqvarna chainsaw. I have owned several other brands over the last 35 years but this saw out-performs them all. I use it for small trimming jobs around the house and for felling larger trees out on my farm. It starts every time and is easy to control and use. I also like the safety features. February 25, 2011
like butter Powerful with the 20" blade, can easily take down trees bigger than I really want to mess with on our annual 2 cord firewoood forays February 25, 2011
Starts every time I am a occasional chainsaw user with not a lot of experience. However, when I pick up the 450 and am ready to go to work, the thing starts every time. It is simple to maintain and a pleasure to use. I woud definately recommend. I only use about once a month simply to maitain some acreage. February 25, 2011
450 18" My past chainsaw made cutting wood a hard chore and resulted in more aches and pains than it was worth. My 450 has put enjoyment back into cutting wood with it's light weight, easy to start, automatic oiler and easy chain tensioning. Was an investment I wish I had made years ago. February 25, 2011
Wish I had two nuts, instead of one. It is a great saw, I wish I had gone up a step to get an adjustable oil pump, a bigger chain and two nuts to hold the bar instead of one. Also the free case was made wrong, you can't put the saw in the bag with the bar attached. February 25, 2011
Highly Recommended I use my Husqvarna to mainly cut fire wood. The saw is very easy to handle. It's light weight coupled with low emissions that makes it quite comfortable to operate. I have not experienced any trouble with this saw and would highly recommend it to anyone doing medium work. February 25, 2011
Sizeable and Hungry This chainsaw is a perfect compliment to modest home owners and weekend lumberjacks. Within 20 minutes of purchase, this saw was cutting through timber on our property like a hot knife - butter. KEEP it oiled and properly cleaned and she will eat chips for years. Very well designed and equally well built. Replacement parts are pricey, but this saw should have no problem handling the average work load. February 25, 2011
