Husqvarna M-ZT 52
After many months of doing my research on different zero turns. I decided on this mower. I was originally a little skeptical on the Briggs motor, but after talking to a lot of different dealers . I did go with this motor. It was a excellent choice. The Briggs has a lot of power. I was amazed by it never seems to get even a little strain in the thickest of grass. Another key selling point was the grease able grease fittings. The bearings on this mower are not sealed. I like to be able to grease the bearings myself. The last key selling point was the cast iron spindles, great upgrade from the aluminum ones in the other models. Great mower!!

VERY VERY disappointed
I bought this mower a few months ago when i started a lawn care business. It was the worst mistake I have ever made. The main issue I have with this mower is that it streaks really really bad. I have tried different blades, different speeds, I have tried everything I can think of. In order for me to make a customers lawn look decent i have to cut it 2 times, sometimes 3 times. That is killing me on my time. I have even went back to the dealer where i bought it from and discussed it with him and he just don`t care. I would not recommend this mower to my worst enemy. So if you are thinking of buying one of these mowers DON`T DO IT !!!!!. Buy a sling blade believe me you will get better results.

First Impressions From A Scag User
My baseline is as a former Scag user located on Martha's Vineyard (off the coast of Cape Cod). We have about 3 acres of lawn (more a converted field than a manicured lawn so its not very smooth). Another key point is we do have a lot of trees on one part of the yard so mowing around them is important. Finely, my comments are based on about 2 hours of use but a lot of research and careful thought.
The M-ZT 52 is solid machine and comparable to the older Scag in terms of build quality but it feels different and it cuts better. The better cut I will attribute to being new vs. the 5 year old Scag.
The major differences are several. First, the control levers are very sensitive and for me at least not immediately intuitive, but I am learning. Second, I can't, quite as effectively, mow under trees, the layout of the Scag seems to allow for reaching under low trees a little better than the M-ZT 52. Third, I am digging up the lawn more with the M-ZT than with the older Scag, this again may be a learning thing.
The cut and the power of the machine are excellent. Among other testing, I did some mowing this morning in wet grass as much as a foot or 18 inches high. The M-ZT 52 would knock it down without issue, but leaving a few 'hairs', as long as I was going at a reasonable speed, then with a second pass it would cleanup nicely.
The user interface, other than the above control sensitivity, is very nice. I do bounce around a lot a higher speeds, again, due to the roughness of our lawn. The springs in the seat help but they are not dampened in any way.
Other observations. Maintenance access seems well thought out. The mower is about the same loudness as the Scag so I recommend both hearing and eye protection. I do have two small quality or dealer prep issues to resolve. The hour meter doesn't work and the pin for the mower hight selection is defective.
Overall my impression is very positive. The M-ZT 52 feels substantial and like it should last a long time if taken care of properly and garaged. I think once my brain adjusts to the control system it will become second nature and be effective.
At this point I would recommend the M-ZT 52 to others looking for an entry level commercial grade zero turn mower.

I bought this mower in late spring and it has been everything I hoped for. I was skeptical because it has a Briggs engine (commercial) but it has been fine so far. It has cut my mowing from 3 hours to 1 hour.

Best Husqvarna I have owned
This mower has great power and the engine runs quieter and smoother then most I have been on. The Hydro package and spindles is the same as the pro series. Very responsive. I have the power bagger system and it is a champion on wet and tall grass. The cut on this mower is superior to most. It does not leave "mowhawks" in the lawn. Tires are big and stance is wide. The seat is better then the MZ series, very comfortable. Clean up is easy as the fabricated deck has very few corners and flat underneath. All and all the best Husqvarna I have owned. Worth the upgraded charge for the commercial motor and extra parts.

I bought this mower a few days ago. I own a small Landscape business and I previously have been using a home owner ZTR. This unit is an entry level commercial mower and it really shows! It has great power and performance. It has cut my mowing time by 33% from my previous mower! I would recommend this mower to anyone who is just starting out in the landscape industry and is looking for a good cost-effective mower. This mower will not disappoint!!
