I bought the mower in early July. After about 3 uses the drive system broke. It was just past the 30 day warranty where husqvarna will take full responsibility, so I had to take it to a repair shop. They had my mower for almost a moth and repaired the issue under warranty after I paid for the new part to ship. The Honda motor runs great and starts first pull. It's heavy and a little hard to maneuver but you get used to it. I'm not holding much confidence in the drive system. It's a gimmick and I fell for it.

A great multi-purpose workhorse mower
I originally bought the HU700F because of the price point/value at a big box store, but when I got it home it was obvious it had been used before and restocked. Promptly, I took it back looking to swap it out for one that was truly new but the store didn't have any more in stock. Needless to say, I was very unhappy at this point and I was ready to take my business elsewhere. This was kind of a compromise mower for me anyway, as I really wanted something with the Honda 190cc engine.
The store wanted my money, so they told me I could pick any other non-riding mower in stock for no upcharge. They barely got the words out before I informed them that they needed bring me an HU800AWD to make me happy--and boy, was I ever.
After four mowings of my half-acre yard, I am very pleased with this mower. Two of the times I have mowed have been in wet grass, and the mower performed very well given the circumstances. I feel it mulches very well in dry grass, and bags well until the bag gets too full.
I'm very impressed with how smoothly it runs and how easily it starts. In dry conditions, the self-cleaning feature where you attach the hose to the deck works great. The mower gives a nice cut and I really like having the option of mowing my Bahia grass at 4.25". Also, it is very fuel-efficient and I've never come close to running out of gas on a full tank. Notable: I use 93 octane in it.
Even at $500 this mower is a real value, IMO. For the $325 I paid for it out the door, it was a steal. Is it durable? It's impossible to say after four uses, but my goal is to get about a decade of service out of it. That Honda 190cc engine is straight butter right now, hopefully the rest of the mower take 38-40 mows per year in this humid FL heat.
This mower is almost a beast at 90+ lbs, but that's okay. If I didn't want a workout I would hire a lawn crew. I probably would have been happy with the HU700F, but the HU800AWD makes me grin ear-to-ear whenever I pass by it in the garage.

The HUSQVARNA HU800AWD is the way to go. I like the way I can mow the hills with out havening to push. The only thing I came across that bothers me is when I need to pull backwards I have to nudge the mower forward a smidge in order for the front wheels to disengages. I hope HUSQVARNA can find away to solve this problem.

Miracle for hills
I have very steep property. At 72 years old, I can now mow with ease. This machine has unbelievable traction and power. The Honda engine starts easy warm or cold without even a choke. Purchase of this machine has delayed me having to hire lawn care maintenance by several years. The only thing missing is a brake for going downhill.
Thanks Husqvarna for making such a great machines.

I purchased this lawn mower 9/27/13 hoping for a powerful, durable mower because I was tired of the one I had cutting my yard so poorly. I fell in love with this mower but was reluctant to spend so much on a push mower. Gave it a chance & after two mows the left front tire came loose. Returned it to Lowe's to have them look at it (pain in the rear to load the mower & return) but they gave me a new one since it was only a month old. Hoping it was a fluke & this one will run like a champ! I will review again later!

I purchased my HU800AWD in April, 2013. During that time, it has been broke down or in the shop for over 3 months. Most of the time in the shop has been waiting on parts. I asked for a replacement mower, since mine seemed to be a lemon, and was denied a replacement, even thought the problems have been due to poor design and/or quality. I do not recommend this mower.

Mr Honda goes to sweden
My review will be short and sweet. My last Honda mower lasted me 15 years. Its was given to the next owner still running fine as a gift from me,he actually was the mover who moved us out of California. I knew one thing my next mower would have a Honda engine or I wouldn't buy it. I saw this mower and fell in love. This mower has Honda power in a swedish machine so thats all you need to say. From Lowes it started first time. Until you've experienced all wheel drive you will never get it. Give me a lot of grass and some steep hills and I could sell these things all day long. In fact they couldnt make them fast enough for me to sell. They dont just go up hills they will pull you up hills.
